We are registering our DS this weekend but cannot agree on a name. Our shortlist includes Jacob, Henry (Harry) and Richard and we are looking for something traditional that goes with the name Joseph. We’d like to avoid overly popular names. Any suggestions please?

Why would you name your child Henry just to call him harry? Surely now a days you would just name him harry? Henry to harry is a bit pretentious

I love Richard and Robert.

Benjamin.
Daniel.
Matthew.
I do like Henry, though, but it doesn't match quite so well with Joseph. (Harry is too nicknamey for me). I like Richard - it's quite unusual these days and is due a renaissance. Jacob is too much alongside Joseph.

I know two Joseph's. Brothers are Oscar, William and Edward.

Oops, I thought Harry was a nickname for Henry Blush ! Love all the suggestions thanks. I think my heart is set on Henry although someone has put me off by saying DS might be bullied owing to the “Horrid Henry” cartoon Hmm . I’d hate for him to suffer because of a name we had chosen!
