We liked names that weren't too common in this generation, but weren't too unusual. I mean, every other boy these days is called Charlie or Riley or Luka...
We went with Josiah, but here are some other nice names along the same lines:

Zachariah
Thomas
Obadiah (Obi for short)
Jeffrey (or Geoffrey)
Henry
Jordan
James
Eric
Samuel
Lachlan
Declan

I suggest having a look at the "top 100 names of 2018", so that you can avoid the top 50 or so, to make sure your boy is not the 3rd Aiden in his class etc

All the steam engines from Thomas the tank engine (but not the Diesel engines, cranes or steam boats.)

Thomas he's the cheeky one
James is vain but lots of fun
Percy pulls the mail on time
Gordon thunders down the line
Emily really knows her stuff
Henry toots and huffs and puffs
Edward wants to help and share
Toby, well let's say, he's square...

There’s also the narrow gauge engines

Friends like Rusty, Duncan,
Fearless Freddie, Mighty Mac,
Skarloey, Peter Sam, Rheneas
Sir Handel at the back

If your looking at twins then you can’t go wrong with the Scottish locomotives Donald & Douglas

🚂 🤣😁

@CocoLoco87 amazingly DS15 ‘pretends’ he has zero recollection of Thomas & Friends, even though he was beyond obsessed soooooo over a decade later (I’ll be keeping his wooden Neil, flying Scotsman & tiger moth then) I’m still humming away to the same theme tunes and incidentally (no way related) live by the philosophy of Nanny Plum (not his favourite but I admire (& would get over excited to meet) the work of voice actress Sarah Ann Kennedy.) Thinking, much later in life, in a decrepid state, in an OAPs home for the senile and infirm, it’ll have to be Thomas & Friends themed to keep everyone calm and feeling useful.🚂🤣😎

ChubsyMcChubFace... I like your name.

HirplesWithHaggis · 04/02/2019 00:21

I see it's already been mentioned a couple of times, but Andrew literally means manly. (From Ancient Greek "andros" meaning "man") Can't beat that. Grin

My missus has suggested Marcus to me for our future boy. This idea is growing on me. Strong but not, I guess, in the top 100 names.

Sessy19 · 06/02/2019 06:11

Adam is one of my most recent favourites!
