Oh I adore the name Morgan!! For either a girl or a boy 😁

RuthW · 25/01/2019 17:36

I think of it as a girl's name however I think it's awful due to the shortening.

Yorkshiremum17 · 25/01/2019 17:43

It's traditionally a name for boys but has developed into a truly unisex name. I love the name but would only use for a boy.

I think it's awful due to the shortening.

What shortening and why would you shorten it?

MikeUniformMike · 25/01/2019 18:13

Most names get shortened or lengthened. Morg doesn't sound very nice.

CrabbityRabbit · 26/01/2019 00:38

I prefer Morrigan (goddess name) for a girl and Morgan for boys.

TigerQuoll · 26/01/2019 07:44

My brother in law in Morgan and my female cousin is Morgan. So either.

TigerQuoll · 26/01/2019 07:45

(My female cousin got called Morgie by her older sister when she was little)

It sounds terribly dated to me - like the early round of late 80s people giving their boys a surname, or even more outré for the time; their girls a boys' name.

Just no.

bevmaccalovesdave · 26/01/2019 09:04

It was 2nd on the list for my DD who was born in 1998 so it sounds very dated to me .

I went with another surname type first name that often gets slated on here but it's her and she loves her name (as do I still 21 years later )
