Would you use this for a girl or a boy??

Oh I adore the name Morgan!! For either a girl or a boy 😁

I think of it as a girl's name however I think it's awful due to the shortening.

It's traditionally a name for boys but has developed into a truly unisex name. I love the name but would only use for a boy.

What shortening and why would you shorten it?

Most names get shortened or lengthened. Morg doesn't sound very nice.

I prefer Morrigan (goddess name) for a girl and Morgan for boys.

My brother in law in Morgan and my female cousin is Morgan. So either.

(My female cousin got called Morgie by her older sister when she was little)

It sounds terribly dated to me - like the early round of late 80s people giving their boys a surname, or even more outré for the time; their girls a boys' name.

It was 2nd on the list for my DD who was born in 1998 so it sounds very dated to me .

I went with another surname type first name that often gets slated on here but it's her and she loves her name (as do I still 21 years later )
