Asa is a great name but I know as horrible little boys in school we'd have definitely called him ass man a few times

AfricaBlue · 24/01/2019 08:12

Yes, pronounced Ace-a. I really love it. Thank you for the comments, still torn!

If you choose Noah, will you be annoyed every time you meet another one? I doubt you will ever meet another Asa.

waterlego · 24/01/2019 08:18

Both are lovely but Asa is superb. I once taught a Canadian boy named Asa and he was lovely.

Marcipex · 24/01/2019 08:23

The only Asa I've ever known would escape from his 1-1 and terrorise the infant classes.
so, Noah.

Shadow1234 · 24/01/2019 08:41

Asa is a great name, Noah is a bit dull for me .

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/01/2019 08:42

Asa.

Lovely unusual but solid name.

babyworry2018 · 24/01/2019 08:49

If I heard Asa, I would assume evangelical Christian. That's the only context I've heard the name.

Noah I feel is v overused.

If you are evangelical Christian and don't mind people being able to guess that, or don't care either way, I'd go with Ada but in reality I'd probably go for an in-between biblical name in terms of popularity.

Fiddie · 24/01/2019 08:52

Every soft play here is like the Ark...Noah, get dahn 'ere Noah ya little sod.

daisypond · 24/01/2019 10:40

Asa. It's a biblical name. As in the historian Asa Briggs.

MikeUniformMike · 24/01/2019 10:42

Asa, but you've seen the responses on here.
Noah is nice but too popular.

ChoudeBruxelles · 24/01/2019 10:43

ASA just made me think you were talking about advertising

MyFriendGoo5 · 24/01/2019 12:49

Asa is pronounced differently to Acer.

The A, is sounded, not er .........I certainly wouldn't be put off a name because some people might not know the history behind it.

Same as I.wouldnt be put off Jacob because it's a brand of crackers or Maisie because it's a kids cartoon.

Absofruitly · 24/01/2019 12:53

Asa definitely.
Asa Butterfield is a very cool young actor, currently being excellent in 'Sex Education' on Netflix. One of the best shows on offer on Netflix at the moment. He's the only Asa I've heard of.

Marcipex · 24/01/2019 12:54

The only Asa I know is pronounced exactly like Acer Confused

JacksonPillock · 24/01/2019 12:56

Depends on your accent and if you pronounce rhotic Rs or not.

In most of England, Asa and Acer are pronounced the same though, true.

percheron67 · 24/01/2019 12:57

Noah. Asa sounds like an acronym for a type of disorder.

Pyotrkrolik · 24/01/2019 17:43

Asa is a great name imo. I love Noah but there are lots and lots around now.

cosytidy · 24/01/2019 21:48

Asa gets my vote

Ngaio2 · 24/01/2019 22:17

I love Asa. The child actor in the Boy in Striped pyjamas and Hugo has this name.
