Which name do you consider more classic/traditional/timeless and least faddy.

Selina (or selena) or Lara .

Narrowed it down to these two now.

Many thanks

Selina.

BlackandGold · 16/01/2019 22:39

To be honest neither of them are classic names but I would go with Lara.

MairzyDoats · 16/01/2019 22:39

I think Laura because of Doctor Zhivago. It's also more elegant than Selina... Selina seems very 80s rah.

strawberrypenguin · 16/01/2019 22:39

I'd say neither are particularly 'classic' but I'd pick Lara

MairzyDoats · 16/01/2019 22:40

Sorry, Lara!

Yika · 16/01/2019 22:40

Selina is more timeless; Lara is lovely but quite trendy

Highlowpo · 16/01/2019 22:40

I agree with PP, neither are classic but Lara more so than Selena (selina spelling reminds me of a chemical element!).

DramaAlpaca · 16/01/2019 22:42

Neither of them are either classic or timeless really. Just choose the one you like best or which goes best with the surname. I'd choose Lara, personally.

SleepWarrior · 16/01/2019 22:42

Lara. Unless you were asking about Serena, in which case I'd choose that!

LionsHeart · 16/01/2019 22:43

Selina ( or maybe Serena?)

RickOShay · 16/01/2019 22:44

Lara I think.

LionsHeart · 16/01/2019 22:45

Snap SleepWarrior!

"Serena is a feminine given name. It is derived from the Latin word serēnus, meaning "clear, tranquil, serene". This name was borne by an obscure early saint, Saint Serēna of Rome."

DramaAlpaca · 16/01/2019 22:47

Ooh yes, I'd pick Serena over Lara too.

Freyanna · 16/01/2019 23:15

I prefer Lara.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 17/01/2019 01:49

Maybe Seline or Celine?

Does it have to end in an "a"?

Erena?

Good luck! Smile

OlennasWimple · 17/01/2019 02:12

Selene was the Greek goddess of the moon, so pretty classic(al)...

ErrolTheDragon · 17/01/2019 02:12

more so than Selena (selina spelling reminds me of a chemical element!).

Er...do you mean selenium? Confused

Anyhow...
I don't think either of the names is exactly classic, but neither is faddy and they're both nice. Serena is nicer though.

NicolaStart · 17/01/2019 02:14

Lara

More classy.

Selena sounds dated, to me.

Shadow1234 · 17/01/2019 02:46

I much prefer Lara out of the two.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 17/01/2019 03:05

OlennasWimple, I think Selene is a beautiful choice! Elegant, romantic, strong and with an air of mystery. Beautiful choice.

ChickenCrimpy · 17/01/2019 03:09

I prefer Celine or Serena. Lara is a bit 80s, it's not quite due a comeback yet, is it?

Peachbubble · 17/01/2019 06:39

Lara

Nnnnnineteen · 17/01/2019 07:13

Love selina. Taught the loveliest selina once, she was a delight, so always gives me good vibes.

AuntieStella · 17/01/2019 07:32

Selena

Inktank · 17/01/2019 08:06

Selina
