Hi, third child sex unknown, due in spring. We have an unusual surname which lends itself better to traditional more classic names. I’d welcome thoughts and comments to help me whittle down my shortlist of around 9 names! Any other suggestions welcome 😉

Alexander
Henry
Elliot
Sebastian
Edward
Arthur
Joseph
Maxwell
Frederick

Thanks!

My personal opinions:

Alexander - classic
Henry - hate, far too pompous
Elliot - fine
Sebastian - fav, but getting very popular
Edward- dont like the shortened versions
Arthur - awful, and way too popular amongst the Towie types
Joseph- classic, love Joey too
Maxwell - nice but know a load of Maxes
Frederick - hate, again loads of Freddies about

other considerations:

Oliver
James
Louis
Benjamin

Alexander - It's very popular so he's likely to mainly be Alex Surname.
Henry - fine
Elliot -OK but I think it sounds a bit feeble
Sebastian - I really dislike this name. Makes me think of Seborhoea.
Edward - great but popular
Arthur - ok but not one I'd choose. Not keen on Art/Artie.
Joseph - great but will get called Joe
Maxwell - I like Max. Just Max or Maxim/Maximilian
Frederick - Not keen.

Elliot and Maxwell are my two favourites

Elliot and Joseph are my favourites.
Henry and Arthur are too popular , Edward and Frederick are just awful sorry lol. I really dislike old man names . Max is ok but dislike Maxwell, sounds a bit pompous

Love all of these names!
I’m probably less keen on Elliot, seems to be becoming quite popular.
Frederick and Henry are my favourites.

I really like Joseph and Edward

Also like Henry and Sebastian
I like Alexander shortened to Sascha

Bit bored of Arthur though did consider it myself for a middle name

Alexander - very nice. Alex, Al and Cander all good nicknames
Henry - like
Elliot - on the wet side
Sebastian - ditto
Edward - nice solid classic, also Edmund and Edwin
Arthur - getting dull now
Joseph - like
Maxwell - quite nice, if a bit surnamey
Frederick - OK

Xander not "Cander" (short for Canderel Spoonful or Candelabra??)
