Hi, this is my first post. I am a first time mum to be and have always loved thinking about what I would name my child. Of course name preferences have changed throughout the years since I was 8! Now I have to make an ACTUAL decision I’m feeling a little overwhelmed.

We are not finding out the sex of baby so need opinions on both boy and girl name possibilities please.

Boys:
Mason
Harry
Jacob
Ethan
Jack
Robert
Oliver (Ollie)
Jamie
George

Girls:
Grace
Penelope (Penny)
Lois
Isla
Aria
Erin
Daisy
Evie

Looking forward to reading opinions... good or bad!!

Love Jamie and Penelope

You'll never get people to agree, I think Lois and Erin are lovely and Grace is awful, directly contradicting a PP.

Choose what you love, try a few out on your bump and see what feels good.
Check none of them make dodgy initials with middle name and your surname.
Practice yelling the name and consider any possible shortenings that you might not like.

Whatever you do, don't ask opinions in real life, just announce your baby as eg. "Robert" . Trust me Wink

Boys:
Mason - no. It's a surname or occupation. Will get shortened to May or Macy
Harry - classic but there are lots of them
Jacob- classic but there are lots of them
Ethan - there are lots of them
Jack - overused
Robert - fine
Oliver (Ollie) - very popular
Jamie - fine
George - fine

Girls:
Grace - - classic but there are lots of them
Penelope (Penny) - ok
Lois - ok
Isla - sa many
Aria - new name. will date.
Erin - ok
Daisy - ok
Evie - ok but so many girls called Evie, Eve,Eva Evelyyn, Ava, Ivy etc

I like all of the boys' names except Mason (I don't like very many "surnamey" names) and I'd use probably James as the official name for Jamie. (Not always against short forms as full names but I happen to like James even better than Jamie!) My favourites from the girls' list are Grace, Lois, Daisy and Evie.
