Posted earlier about having b/g twins. Our eldest daughters are called June Rosemary and Darcie Violet. We have decided on Pearl Agnes for our girl.
Our problem is with our DS. Our girls names seem so soft, whereas any boys names seem extremely harsh in comparison. We had wanted to go for a bit more of an unusual name and have been considering Elmer and Enoch. However we stumbled upon George. We think it flows really well with our girls names and are considering George Fabian. But it just doesn’t feel ‘right’. Any opinions please?

Wasn't there a very racist politician called Enoch Powell? Made a rather infamous speech, Rivers of Blood iirc.

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 13:07

That’s the one thing stopping me! It’s so annoying. Enoch is the only name we can agree on, and it’s a lovely biblical name but then we’re wondering if it makes it look like we support Enoch Powell!.

June
Darcie
Pearl

How about

Edward
Franklin
Herbert
Hubert

Type name would be fine. I wouldn’t choose George now, not for a good few years.

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 13:09

Quite like Edward, but would shorten it to Eddie and not sure if I like having names that end the same. Why not George for a few years?

Elijah?

I like Pearl.

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 13:31

I like Elijah, but it seems to be quite popular

MrsFassy · 28/12/2018 13:39

If you think Elijah is too popular then George definitely is; pretty sure it's currently ranked number 3.

Nanalisa60 · 28/12/2018 13:48

I’m a lover of Scottish and lrish boys names

Harrison
Duncan
Ryan
Sean
Grant
Stuart
Hamish

But I’m old fashioned and I like boys to have strong names and girls to have pretty names.

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 13:50

@MrsFassy To me George is a classic, has always been popular. So the popularity of that doesn’t bother me

George is lovely.

If you like Elijah, Enoch, Elmer..

How about
Enzo
Ezra

Phebes · 28/12/2018 17:26

Pearl Agnes is a lovely choice!

I actually really like Elmer, makes me think of the patchwork elephant which is a cute connection.

George is also nice, very solid and classic, and Fabian is a cool, unusual middle name. I actually love George Fabian as a combo.

How about Pearl and...

Amos
Abel
Ezra
Elwood
Elias
Elisha
Orson
Roscoe
Miles
Wilbur
Wilfred
Amias
Ralph
Seth

BlancheM · 28/12/2018 17:37

I like Emlyn

lauraannk · 28/12/2018 18:01

I think George would go really well with the other names and I really like Elias as mentioned above by PP, could even work as a middle name so George Elias

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 18:10

I think it’s between George and Thomas. Which one do you prefer

OP posts:
FogCutter · 28/12/2018 18:12

I prefer George to Thomas.

Thomas too popular for my taste, there are 3 in DC2s class.

Ifyouthinkiwillsleepyoudream · 28/12/2018 18:14

I like both George and Thomas. I prefer George.

Rowan?

My sister votes for Sage - if you are after unusual!

GraduationDilemma · 28/12/2018 18:15

Joseph is lovely. Sounds soft with many variants. Or Felix.

EgremontRusset · 28/12/2018 18:15

George and Thomas are both gorgeous. I notice your girls all have a nature name. How about George Lyndon? I think it flows well (Lyndon like the linden tree, lots of valid spellings) or Thomas Jay?

William is also a possible middle name with Thomas (too royalist with George!) - classic but really soft sounding

abcriskringle · 28/12/2018 18:17

George is one of my most favourite names! Definitely George.

Flamingosnbears · 28/12/2018 18:17

Anselm
Eben
Jude
Thaddeus
Any of these would work well

RiskOnTheMoon · 28/12/2018 18:18

I love Otto, Wilbur and Wilfred but outvof your final too many I’d pick Thomas. George is a bit too soft for me.

CathyBigBalls · 28/12/2018 18:55

I quite like Abel
