As a nickname for Beatrix? Love Beatrix but Bea is everywhere!

It's what my babies called weetabix.

Doilooklikeatourist · 14/12/2018 20:50

I’d suggest Bumble as a nick name , much nicer
Bumble Bee

Notso · 14/12/2018 20:51

It sounds like a product name the apprentice candidates would come up with.
I like Beattie, one of my favourite poems is called Beattie is 3.

Justbackfromnewwine · 14/12/2018 20:54

It’s a no from me

PostmanBos · 14/12/2018 20:57

This is my mum's dog's nickname

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 14/12/2018 20:58

Beattie?

mathanxiety · 15/12/2018 05:40

How about Bee?

I think Bixie is singularly unattractive.

fieryginger · 15/12/2018 06:11

Oooh I'm not keen. Reminds me of a dog treat. Beatrix is lovely.

Congratulations - exciting times ahead.

flumpybear · 15/12/2018 06:36

As above I'd chose a name first and see what nickname follows - I wanted to call my DD Tig for short, it never really worked out that way in the end and she's not a tig kinda girls now at the grand age of 10

knittedjest · 15/12/2018 06:38

Horrible

tammytoby · 15/12/2018 08:44

Awful

MumUnderTheMoon · 28/12/2018 10:29

Bix or trix I think or you could just full name her. My dds name is long but everyone just uses it.

LokiDokiArtichoki · 29/12/2018 16:10

My nan is an elisabeth and has always been called bitsie as a nickname.

LiveSleepSnore · 29/12/2018 16:11

I thought Bix Beiderbecke!

ForAMinuteThere · 29/12/2018 22:27

Surname Bix is known where I live so all the ones I know of are Bixy. So to me, sounds like a surname nick name.

pinkhorse · 29/12/2018 22:31

It sounds like bitchy to me.

RamonaQ · 29/12/2018 22:33

I know one called Biba for short, that's pretty cute!

StripLynchet · 29/12/2018 22:33

Beattie or Bebe or Bee all sound less like a breakfast cereal

Hobbes8 · 29/12/2018 22:34

Bixie was a character in Weetabix adverts in the 80s. She was the girl weetabix - there were others called things like Dunk and Brains.

I quite like it as a nickname, and I’m sure most people don’t remember the adverts, but that’s what i thought of.

Dontrocktheboat · 29/12/2018 22:43

Surely Bea is not everywhere??
I know one, pronounced Baya, which I like.
Also a Bibi short for Beatrix.
I don’t think Beatrix/ Beatrice is that common - more so than in the past but surely nothing to stress about.
Beatrix is a lovely name, just see what nickname evolves.

LeslieYep · 29/12/2018 22:53

A friend has a DD called Beatrice and she's called Betty. So cute on a 6 month old!

NooMe · 29/12/2018 23:07

No, not Bixie! Awful.

I agree, if you love Beatrix, let nicknames form naturally.

Snipples · 29/12/2018 23:41

Really don't like Bixie. Much prefer Bea but then I'm biased as we have one. It's not common at all. I don't know of any others.

peachypetite · 29/12/2018 23:43

😂😂😂

CaptainCaveMum · 29/12/2018 23:48

Sorry...check the urban dictionary... just no
