Beatrice is lovely.

Jennifer is ok but it’s a bit too ... comfy for me. I can’t explain it but it reminds me of a really squishy sofa.

Astronica · 14/12/2018 12:32

I like both but would choose the more unexpected Jennifer Jane! A lovely name that has been over-used in the past but would be delightful on a little one now.

Topseyt · 14/12/2018 14:13

Jennifer Jane or Jennifer Elizabeth for me. I love the name Jennifer. I have a Jennifer too, so might be slightly biased.

I don't dislike Beatrice either. It is pretty, but less my style.

ViragoKnows · 14/12/2018 14:46

Jennifer is due a revival. Very pretty but not cutesy.

mumof2sarah · 14/12/2018 14:54

I love love love them both OP

Pemba · 14/12/2018 15:58

Jennifer is a lovely name, due a revival like a pp said. I really like Jenny too.

Agree that Beatrice is a bit of a fad at the moment. Don't really see the appeal and I find the English pronunciation ugly (beer triss). The French pronunciation is pretty (bay-uh-treess, I think) but you won't be able to get that.

TatianaLarina · 14/12/2018 17:22

Beatrice is a classic name, I know one my age, the fact it’s having a moment doesn’t change that.

Joinourclub · 14/12/2018 17:26

I met three little Beatrice’s at playgroup this week. I haven’t met a Jennifer yet. I really like Jenny, but I think I prefer Genevieve to Jennifer as Jennifer is a little 80s to my ears.

tammytoby · 15/12/2018 08:46

I prefer Beatrice

Snipples · 15/12/2018 09:09

Prefer Beatrice. We have one so I'm biased.

I went to school with a Jennifer Jane - she was called JJ the whole time. I didn't like it.

What about Charlotte for a classic alternative that isn't too 80s?

Juanbablo · 15/12/2018 09:20

Beatrice Jane. I'm not a fan of Jennifer although I do love Elizabeth.

EloisaJane · 16/12/2018 17:54

Jennifer is one I haven't heard in a while, how lovely! Jennifer Jane is gorgeous.
I've never liked the name Beatrice personally.

MadameJosephine · 16/12/2018 18:02

Jennifer Jane, it’s gorgeous. I have a Jennifer and very nearly gave her Jane as her middle name but went for a family name instead. She’s 6 and hasn’t met another yet

Pumpkin2018 · 17/12/2018 20:18

My daughter was born just under 6 weeks ago and was going to be Jennifer Jayne, but after she was born I couldn’t bring myself to call her it, It felt very 80s and I hated that fact she could of been called JJ, Jen or Jenny. We kept Jayne has a middle name though.

rosydreams · 17/12/2018 20:21

thank you given me things to think about

i guess have initials bjs is a very bad idea as our surname a s

i have been unsure particularly about middle names its traditional in our family for a child's middle name be the name of a grandparent.Which would be Jane but my other half suggested Elizabeth after my sister who died young

Polkasq · 17/12/2018 20:26

Jennifer Jane reminds me of Gordon Brown who had a child with this name.

Countrybumpkin19 · 17/12/2018 20:36

Love Beatrice! Vetoed by DH unfortunately.

Bristolgal · 17/12/2018 21:46

Jennifer 💕 And Jennifer Jane is gorgeous!

Bristolgal · 17/12/2018 21:48

Oh, I've just seen your comment about your sister who died. I'm so sorry. Jennifer Elizabeth is also lovely. It's more of a mouthful to say but that doesn't matter, especially as it won't be said often.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/12/2018 10:52

Jennifer Elizabeth is very nice, and Jenny is such a pretty name.

Cazastrophe · 20/12/2018 00:34

Beatrice Elizabeth is a bit of a mouthful and Jane would make her initials BJ so NO!
Don’t like Jennifer and hate the nn Jenny!
I like Betty Jane or Betsy Jane though (then you have Elizabeth and Jane together?)

Smile19 · 20/12/2018 05:10

Jennifer Elizabeth is such a beautiful name.

ShadyLady53 · 20/12/2018 05:15

Beatrice Elizabeth is beautiful and very classy.

I really don’t like the name Jennifer Jane but that’s partly because I know two really horrible Jennifers and one of them is a Jennifer Jane (nickname JJ). Both born 80s and 90s. The youngest Jennifer I know is now 24. Thankfully, she’s lovely!
