I recently descovered the name everly but found out it’s getting trendy
I do like most of the names ending in ‘verly’.
What’s your favourite?
Do you think these names will get very mainstream?

Ha. I've met a female (adult, in fact) Avery in the UK, and I know a baby girl with the name in South Africa. Since Ava is so popular, I'm not surprised it's seen as feminine.

And when has Max, short for Maxine, not been a girls' name? Pretty standard.

I like Waverley as Waverley Way is a beautiful street where we live with views of the water and glorious homes. So lovely associations.

Aveley is a town on the M25 near Dartford, I don't think is a particularly nice place

Everly is trendy I think. It's very popular in the US, and taking off elsewhere. Also there are several names beginning with Ev in the UK top 100 or near - so makes it seem more popular (Evelyn, Eve, Eva, Evie).

Beverley is too dated and not ready for a comeback. Averly I guess is your smoosh of Ava/Aveline/Everly/Avery. Not my taste.

The station in Edinburgh was named as a homage to Sir Walter Scott and the Waverley novels. The Scott monument is right by Waverley station. As a first name it may raise eyebrows.

I quite like Beverley. It’s the name of most of my mums friends!

Everley not so much - looks like it’s missing a letter.

Waverley is that programme with selina gomez

Avery reminds me of birds.

Anecdotally, the plumber who fitted my new boiler was called Trevor Lee, and I think Trevorley is nicer than all your suggestions Wink

Beverley is the only one I recognise as a name. The others all sound like surnames to me. I know a couple of Bevs, born in the 50s or 60s, so I assume Beverley isn't quite ready for a revival yet.
