Lucky?

Inspired by another thread today -
This is a name I like but a lot of people say that it's a dog name which I find completely understandable, but would anyone say it's usable?

I had a girl called Lucky in my year at school. My name is really similar so we were always getting mixed up.

TheMagician · 06/12/2018 17:15

No no. Makes me think of the name a sex worker was forced to take. Awful.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 06/12/2018 17:16

No, just no.

ThanksItHasPockets · 06/12/2018 17:17

It’s a bit hubristic.

TheDustbunny · 06/12/2018 17:31

If your baby has four legs and barks then yes, otherwise No.

Penelop3 · 06/12/2018 18:18

It’s definitely a dog name and a bad one at that

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/12/2018 19:14

Well if I'd have been called Lucky.
I certainly wouldn't have lived up to my name. I've been a walking disaster from the minute I was bornGrin

HopeGarden · 06/12/2018 19:18

I wouldn’t.

I’d use Felicity though, and that means lucky.

Cosmoa · 06/12/2018 19:50

Being named Lucky would probably highlight all the times you were 'unlucky' and you wouldn't be living in irony whenever things went wrong.

Cosmoa · 06/12/2018 19:51

Would be*

CloserIAm2Fine · 06/12/2018 20:01

Awful for a child of either sex

Fine but unoriginal for a pet

Topseyt · 06/12/2018 20:01

Are you expecting a puppy? Or a kitten?

If not then don't do it.

Polkasq · 06/12/2018 20:24

Go for Lucy instead, and if you must use Lucky keep it as a nickname.

BlueBertie · 06/12/2018 20:29

The following proper names could work with Lucky as a nickname.

Luke
Lucas
Luc
Lachlan

Lucky Luc was a French cartoon. I really wouldn't give a baby Lucky as a full name but it's a great nickname. I might just have a Lucky.

raffle · 06/12/2018 20:32

Santangelo?

starlitsky · 06/12/2018 20:43

I actually love it but I think as a pp said it would be nicer as a nickname

DramaAlpaca · 06/12/2018 22:31

Don't be daft.

deptfordgirl · 07/12/2018 07:22

I taught a Lucky. Not a fan myself but she suited it.

Cookit · 07/12/2018 11:12

Good God no, it’s not a name.
