Names to go with current children

Hello!

Just become pregnant with my 3rd child and although we don't know about gender I was looking for some name inspiration.. especially with girls as we have 2 already so I'm going to struggle a bit if this is another little lady!

My daughters are called Lilia.. pronounced Lih-lee-ah (Poppy is middle name) and Alba (Niamh.. pronounced Neev is middle name)

I understand they aren't everyone's cup of tea but I love them.

Any ideas for girls and boys names that would link in well?

If it was a boy the middle name would be George or maybe Austin as family names

Girl we aren't sure on middle name but potentially Genevieve, June or Nellie.. again for family

Thanks!

With 2 girls already, apparently you have 70% chance of this next baby being a girl :)

Are you sure? I thought because each pregnancy is a new event the odds are 50/50 each time.

Anyhoo the question

Jude

Violet

Please don't call her Nellie. It's an elephant's name.

@moredoll I guess there are many theories, but that's a stat I read recently. We are expecting our third girl funnily enough!
My husband has three sisters and 9 aunts (only 2 uncles), there must be a trend for girls in his family- I fail to see it's 50/50!

MummyBearRose · 05/12/2018 22:02

would you not name her Nellie? it's lovely

You've got a 50/50 chance each time! Your body and the sperm don't know what gender any previous babies were!

Lilia and Alba have a gorgeous airy feel to them.

Also Charis or Carys for a girl.

nocluenoidea · 07/12/2018 02:50

@sonniboo that theory isn't exactly accurate, 'your body and the sperm' carry thousands of genetic dispositions, gender being one of them

Once you have 2 of one sex, the odds of the third being the same sex are increased (only if you have 2 already). Presumably this is because, whilst each conception is a discrete event, there is then a statistical likelihood that there is something about your setup that favours one sex over the other eg womens vagina slightly hostile to male (smaller, less hardy) sperm, man's testes favour bigger (female XX)/smaller (male XY) sperm, or whatever.
