Love Amelie

nocluenoidea · 01/12/2018 07:15

I love Willow and Romy as well, but do you find them tacky at all?

@Iwant2befree so many lovely Irish names! My children have Irish citizenship but actually have no real connection to Ireland (their great Grandad was Irish, and we live in Australia hence the benefit of citizenship!). So I'm not sure we could get away with an Irish name?!
Aoife and Maeve are my favourites but DH said no to Aoife :(

Willow and Maeve are both lovely.
Rose would be better than Rosie in my opinion. It's just a bit babyfied.
Good luck and congrats on your 3rd daughter!

starkid · 01/12/2018 09:57

I like Willow and Zoe :) Rose rather than Rosie is also nice

wildewillow · 01/12/2018 10:03

Willow & Maeve! Both top of my list too! Maeve is my absolute favorite name ever!

Sillysausageshi · 01/12/2018 11:31

I love Lois

Marnie
Fia (or Fiadh)
Phoebe
Lila

Rumpleteezer · 01/12/2018 12:08

We have three daughters and two of their names are on there :) What are your other two called, if you don't mind saying? Might be easier to 'put' names together.

Oh wow, I finally found exactly what one as looking for in the baby names section- a fake passport!

Seriously though Romy- lovely and more classy

Willow - is going South in terms of chavness...

Astronica · 01/12/2018 12:20

The only one I dislike is Lois, which seems to me too dated to bring back.

My favourite is Maeve, but also really like Maisie, Zoe, Romy and Rosie.

ReginaPhalange89 · 01/12/2018 16:56

I'm pregnant with my 3rd, 2 girls but don't know the sex of this one yet.

Maisie - too cutesy, doesn't carry well through life
Romy - too 'now' - faddy
Willow - never liked this
Amelie - nice but very popular
Zoe - like this, on my list too
Maeve - sounds a bit old lady
Lois - ok but instantly think of family Guy
Poppy - again too cute for an adult , also very overly common
Rosie - pretty, I like it actually. But not sure if it's too cutesy too ?

Names I like just now - Zoe, Francesca, Libby, Jessica , Georgia/Georgie

@ForAMinuteThere eh?!!!

Thanks all for comments, have scrapped a few. Remaining as follows;

Zoe- we live in Australia and this is actually a top 10 name here, despite not being in the top 100 in UK, which puts me off a little

Willow- not 100% just because worried it could sound American or tacky

Romy- not 100% sure, maybe too 'nicknamey'

Amelie- name isn't inside top 100 in Australia so not worried about popularity

Maeve- possibly my favourite but do you think spelling would cause problems?!

Any other suggestions welcome! I generally like two syllable names as they go better with our surname

The poster above put a load of fake passport spam, ha!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/12/2018 22:21

Love Romy.
How about Roxie or Jetta, Marnie or Tessa ?

nocluenoidea · 01/12/2018 22:21

@ForAMinuteThere oh I see, how random!

I love willow and wanting to call my baby that but have gone for Erin mae.

Like Romy and Maisie as well..

doublethink · 01/12/2018 22:50

Rosamund shortened to Rosie is nice

pixieloux · 01/12/2018 23:01

Willow & Maeve ❤️

DD2 was almost Willow Maeve or Willow Niamh. We went with Violet in the end.

MeganJ93 · 02/12/2018 14:52

I really like Willow, Amelie & Maeve.

TatianaLarina · 02/12/2018 14:59

Romy. If you’re worried about it being nicknamed what about Romilly, Romy for short.

I don’t think Willow sounds great with an Aus accent.

Notquiteagandt · 02/12/2018 16:13

I like Romy and willow

Sungura · 02/12/2018 16:36

Maeve is the best IMO. It's the kind of name that sounds classic, intelligent, and that will grow with her.
