Middle name will be Ruby. Surname is one syllable - along lines of Jones, Barnes etc.

I was actually saying the other day I like Sylvie. Don't think I'm brave enough to pick it though.

I adore it. Dh uses veto because of that bloody song. Like anyone of our kids gen will know and reference the song.

However is very popular here at the moment (south west) and I know quite a few under 3 years.
So no it’s not old fashioned, but I think it’s on it’s way to being the new Olivia, Millie, Ellie etc. All lovely names though, so if you don’t mind that go for it. It’s fab x

I do like Sylvia, but I'm not keen on Sylvia Ruby.

There is a gorgeous 4 year old Sylvie at our primary school. I don’t know any others.

I like Sylvie but my French friend gave it the thumbs down.

I've come across a few young Sylvia's/Sylvies over the past 3 years in fact two were at the same baby sensory class I attended which still blows my tiny mind. I don't get the love for it. It's my mums generation so I associate Sylvia's with Diane's, Gills and Wendy's.

Makes me think of Sylvia Plath do not great. But if the connection doesn’t bother you then why not.

Sylvia Ruby is an awkward combination to my mind.
