We loved Edith for a little girl but close friends have recently used it. We've been thinking about Meredith instead - with either Edie or Meri as a nickname and I'd love to know what people think?

It’s lovely, and I tend not to like anglicised Welsh names.

MonaChopsis · 14/11/2018 16:01

Lovely name, it was my first choice for DD but I couldn't use it because I live in Wales.

Ignore all the 'only use it if you're Welsh' stuff up thread, it's a boy's name here. Use it and delight in your little girl's gorgeous name!!

Thanks everyone. Husband spent a lot of his childhood in Wales although not Welsh herritage so it feels apt.

Lovely name, especially with an Australian accent for some reason!
Merit is a lovely shortening.

Bloody auto, Meri

Lovely name with some gorgeous shortenings. One of the nicest I have seen on here!

Meredith is a lovely name, much better than Edith.

Alaaya · 14/11/2018 16:44

Love it. It was on our list but DH vetoed.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 14/11/2018 19:01

Very nice. Having Merry/ Meri as a NN can only be good thing!

HildaOgdensFlyingDucks · 14/11/2018 19:05

Gorgeous

Have one so biased, have always loved it! She is the only one we know.

Highlowpo · 14/11/2018 20:59

Thank you again everyone for your responses. You've made me feel much better after a pretty shitty couple of days.
