Hi I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are of this name? It has really fallen in popularity over the past few years and only 15 born last year which really surprised me. Do you think people are avoiding it due to it being associated with the comedian/ TV show? Does it sound dated? And what nicknames would work? I quite like Mira.

Nothing wrong with Miranda though it makes me think of a mermaid.
She'll be called "Randy", though.

I think is a great name - there was also Miranda in SATC.

I think it's pretty ageless and classic-sounding so I am surprised that some people find it dowdy. I think of The Tempest before the comedian too. If you like Shakespearean names, how about Helena, Rosalind, Beatrice, Lavinia?

My immediate thought was of the Youtuber Miranda Sings! I pronounced it in my head how she says it when I read your title 😂

A nice and unusual name
