Lewis

Billy is cute for a little boy but not as much for the man he will one day become.

MonkeyToucher · 08/11/2018 10:16

100% Billy as a shortening of William. Suits a little boy and a grown man and gives him options.

I really dislike Lewis, but am biased because of a particularly unpleasant one I went to school with....

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/11/2018 10:20

Love William but not Billy, makes me think of EastEnders. Will on the other hand, lovely and would have been my daughters name if I'd had a boy. So, after all that waffle, Lewis is my favourite.

LordPickle · 08/11/2018 19:38

@NutElla5x my dad is called Billy and he's 66. It makes me cringe!

hellsbells552 · 08/11/2018 23:15

William nn Billy or Will would have been my boy choice 🙂

DramaAlpaca · 09/11/2018 00:32

Lewis

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 09/11/2018 00:40

Billy as a shortening for William, definitely!

We're using William for DS due in the spring- he'll be a Will though

HouseworkIsASin10 · 09/11/2018 00:43

Love William or Will. Why Billy?

LMDC · 09/11/2018 01:00

William nn Billy for sure!

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 09/11/2018 01:13

Billy ... love it

Starryskiesinthesky · 09/11/2018 06:11

Lewis. Much better.

NutElla5x · 09/11/2018 11:00

@LordPickle that's so strange because we usually associate names with people we know,so I'm guessing you're not close to your Dad?

FireT · 09/11/2018 11:05

Why Billy? Because that's the name I love? Lol

@NutElla5x I love my dad, but why can't he be Bill? 🤷🏻‍♀️

NutElla5x · 09/11/2018 11:47

Maybe @LordPickle because he prefers Billy.I'm sorry, but I can't imagine being cringed out by my Dad just because of his name, that seems so odd to me.

LordPickle · 09/11/2018 12:12

@NutElla5x I'm not "cringed out" by my dad, so wind your neck in. I just think it's silly to go by Billy as an adult. End of.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 09/11/2018 12:16

Lewis, but prefer Louis.

lebkuchenlover · 09/11/2018 12:20

I also find Billy or Billie are very cutesy.

William, Lewis or even Bill are better.

sachabloom · 09/11/2018 12:28

Billy

Polkasq · 09/11/2018 12:45

Billy, as long as your surname isn't Cann.

Polkasq · 09/11/2018 12:46

Personally I find Lewis a bit flimsy-sounding.

twattymctwatterson · 09/11/2018 13:11

Billy somewhat has connotations where I'm from so probably Lewis

Pemba · 09/11/2018 13:14

Louis (pronounced with 'ee' ending) is lovely. Lewis is OK I suppose, but why would you when you can have Louis?

William is a fine name (Billy for short).

NutElla5x · 09/11/2018 13:49

Blimey you really don't like the name Billy do you @LordPickle.Calm down love it's just a name.

lebkuchenlover · 09/11/2018 14:11

but why would you have Lewis when you can have Louis?

Because Louis is a French name and it is often mispronounced as Lou-is outside of France. On the other hand, Lewis will have no risk of being mispronounced.
