Elliot and Eleanor - too similar for cousins

Expecting a baby boy in a few weeks and Dh and I really like the name Elliot. My only slight reservation is that my sister has a little girl called Eleanor. Given that Elliot is quite similar sounding does it seem ridiculous?

Not at all, IMO

No, they're fine - very different names.

Not unless they both end up as Ellie.

I don't think they are too similar apart from potentially being called Ellie as a nn which I doubt Elliot will. Check with your sister but I doubt it would be an issue

Absolutely fine, totally different!

Totally different. Absolutely fine.

Oh that’s a relief, we don’t agree on any other names! Eleanor is 3 and no one calls her Ellie yet. Not planning to shorten or nickname Elliot so should be ok. Thank you!

We have an Elliot in the family, his name gets shortened to Ell not Ellie,
but I also dont see a problem with Elliot and Eleanor
