Unique baby boy names.

Our little boy is called Grayson.
We loved the name Jaxson for a second boy, a bit overplayed at the moment, but we still loved it. The DHs brother had a boy and called him Jack. So definitely too close to use and we see them regularly.
Then we decided on Clay and stuck with that for about 8 months, DH informed me last night he's gone off it.
I am 13 weeks pregnant and we find out the sex in 3 weeks. I'm stressing now though because I wanted as long as possible to get used to the name, in case like the above happened and one of us changes their mind But our baby had already had the name for several months.
I like Jenson, Quinn, Daxx, Axel and similar.
Unique but not super out there names.
DH hates them all and keeps coming back to his choices which are Alec, Archimedes and Dante.

We've always been so good at making decisions and this one has stumped us!
I'm hoping baby is a girl now because we've had that name picked for 7 years and would make me stress less!

Great update - congrats! Are you willing to share the name you chose??

MsHopey · 20/01/2019 15:12

A little worried people are going to come on and say how much they hate it, but here goes:

Jameson
Pronounced Jaym-uh-son.
Like the whiskey 😂

Oh I think thats a lovely name. Please do not let anyone put you off. If you love it then go for it. You are always going to get someone who doesnt like a name, but its personal choice at the end of the day.

Thanks for sharing.

Lorddenning1 · 20/01/2019 18:23

I like the name Jesse

MumUnderTheMoon · 20/01/2019 18:55

Being as you already have a greyson I'd stay away from another name with "son" at the end as it's a little matchy.
What about
Tanner
Jacobie
Cole
Jed
Potter
Elias

Jameson is by far the best name of your list. :)

BikeRunSki · 20/01/2019 19:02

It snowed the day before we got married, and that was late April many years ago, so you never know!

Cosmoa · 20/01/2019 19:12

Oh I love the name Jameson!! Good choice OP 😊

Cosmoa · 20/01/2019 19:13

Oh and I know of a little girl names Talisker like the whiskey 😂

Cosmoa · 20/01/2019 19:13

Named*

Fiddie · 20/01/2019 19:29

Jameson is the best name on here so far OP.

Thank god you changed from Jaxon or Daxx.

stellarfox · 20/01/2019 19:38

I love Grayson and Jameson separately but I don't think I would go for two -son names for siblings as it's really matchy! What about James standalone?

SumAndSubstance · 20/01/2019 23:18

Oh, I don’t mind that! I was apprehensive after your first list.

MsHopey · 21/01/2019 10:05

DH is called James, and he won't allow James Jr. or James the second.
The other reason I liked the name is it means Son of James.
DH is already calling bump Jamie and Grayson is mostly shortened to Gray anyways, so it won't sound too matchey most the time, but I like then being matchey even though it's a mumsnet no-no.

Oh my goodness OP, none of these are names!

Stinkytoe · 21/01/2019 10:12

Awkward,that’ll teach me RTFT

Sessy19 · 21/01/2019 10:47

@Stinkytoe....except that they ARE if there is someone has that name, it becomes a name.

Did you go to a special foundation or something that makes you the authority on what word constitutes a name? Are you the Decider? If a person is called something, the word they are called is their ‘name’, whether you or anyone else likes it. It doesn’t become their ‘word’, it’s their ‘name’. 🤦‍♀️

Sophronia · 21/01/2019 16:51

Jameson is much nicer than the others on your first list!
