Holly and Ivy - is it a complete no-go?

We already have a Holly, and like Ivy for dd2. (Yes, dd1 was a Christmas baby and dd2 is due around the same time)

Is the combination too clichéd/twee though?

If it’s relevant, we also have a ds Benjamin (Ben) who is between dd1 and dd2 in age.

The holly and the ivy when they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood, the holly bears the crown.

SlowlyShrinking · 21/10/2018 10:40

I love that carol

davisday · 21/10/2018 10:41

I wouldn't.

BertramKibbler · 21/10/2018 10:42

Bit harsh on Ivy though lol

Flyingpompom · 21/10/2018 10:44

Ben and Holly? I'm thinking you should call the next one nanny plum!

BertramKibbler · 21/10/2018 10:46

I didn’t think about Ben & Holly!

Tbh OP you may as well just go for Ivy.

She won’t be Ben & Holly & Ivy all her life.

Soon enough she will just be Ivy Redstar and no one will care what her sister is called.

IVflytrap · 21/10/2018 16:26

I really, really wouldn't. It makes it look as if you treated your children's names as a bit of a joke.

redexpat · 21/10/2018 16:33

I love it!

motortroll · 21/10/2018 16:39

If you live it then do it!

HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/10/2018 16:45

I love it!

kaytee87 · 21/10/2018 19:35

Oh god, please don't.

newrubylane · 21/10/2018 23:15

I just found myself humming 'Holly, Ben and Ivy' to the tune...

Budgieinaberet · 21/10/2018 23:19

I thought you were supposed to keep off the booze when pregnant

RavenWings · 21/10/2018 23:36

No, no, no and no. Noooooo.

RedStarBlueStar · 21/10/2018 23:55

Seems it is a no go then! Such a shame as we love both names individually.

You’re right though about the ‘Holly bears the crown’ being far too unfortunate!

Exactly!

Poshsausage · 22/10/2018 00:03

Please please don’t

How about iris ?

spanishwife · 22/10/2018 00:05

What about Natalie for a Christmasy name? Natale/Nadal being romance language words for Christmas.

Redred2429 · 22/10/2018 00:09

I have one of these names and would of hated for my sister to have the other

Don't do it.

Love Robyn though.

Shadow1234 · 22/10/2018 16:06

Agree with Robyn as an alternative.

OutPinked · 23/10/2018 12:46

I’d use Robyn for a Christmas baby. I have an Ivy so obviously a favourite of mine but Holly and Ivy is a no go, especially when you already have Ben and Holly!
