One syllable names which aren't traditionally 'white British' please?

I wasn't sure whether to post this in creative writing or here, but I'd love some suggestions of fairly common names from other cultures, that are used for children living here. I'm writing a collection of poems for children, and where names are mentioned, I want to make sure they're not all Jack and Sophie, if that makes sense. One syllable is most useful ideally, but two at a push.

Boys' and girls' names please, any background really, but probably mainly Indian/Arabic/Afro-Carribean/Eastern European? I'm stuck, and don't necessarily want to use my children's friends names!

I need a name to rhyme with 'brain', and Jane (whilst perfectly fine) is not so common now and a bit 50s. And he's talking about his twin sister.
