Boy/girl suggestions

I’m expecting our third baby, early days and so don’t know the gender but I can’t help but think about names!
I already have a Rafe and a Milo. I have a couple of names from old lists that I like/am unsure on - interested to know if anyone has any other names to suggest along similar lines? I don’t really want anything super popular/traditional.

So far I have
Boys
Otis
Rudy - had this on my list last time around but really not sure
Girls
Clementine - love
Iris - think I love

Thanks Smile

Love your boy name choices! Both fit perfectly with your children’s names. I think Otis slightly pips it for me.
Unfortunately not a fan of your girls names. I really don’t like the diminutive Clemmie which I feel is inevitable. I thought I liked Iris until I met baby called it recently and it just didn’t suit her at all. Made me think the name sounded rather harsh.

Ipanema01 · 16/10/2018 15:31

Thank you - I suppose Clemmie is the only shortening really isn’t it? I don’t mind Clemmie. Interesting re. Iris.
So open to hearing suggestions along the same sort of lines, I feel like I’ve heard every name going!

I love Leonora (Leonora Carrington the amazing painter)
I would have used that name but we had a boy we named him Sterling.

Wherearemycarkeys · 16/10/2018 15:46

Rudy is amazing! Also love Clementine and Iris. Otis always seems like a novelty pet name to me... I think because it reminds me of that aardvark who used to be on CBBC and after that loads of people seemed to have cats and dogs called Otis. (Or maybe the two things weren't linked at all but that's how it seemed to child-me!)

Shadow1234 · 16/10/2018 16:27

Also love your boys names. Hard to choose between the two, so I would pick the one that sounds best with your surname.

Not keen on Clementine or Iris. Also dont like Clemmie as nn.

I like Rudy out of the boys' names, but only if short for Rudolph.
I like Clementine and Iris, but I prefer Iris.

Ipanema01 · 17/10/2018 11:32

Thanks all for your suggestions 😊
I quite like Thea, also like Luna thought it’s ruled out as a close relative is having something very similar.

I love Iris and also like Clementine.

Rudy is okay but it sounds like a nickname to me. I don't like Otis at all.

All 4 go well with Rafe and Milo though.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, nothing is really grabbing me Hmm
I think I’m swinging more towards Otis, I’m not sure if Rudy could potentially sound a bit chavvy?

OP posts:
Lipsticktraces · 20/10/2018 11:46

I love Rudy. It was on the shortlist for my boy twin.

Ipanema01 · 20/10/2018 19:56

Lipsticktraces do you mind me asking your other choices?
