Can’t decide whether I find it too frilly or very beautiful.

It's a lovely name, but, to me, it's too closely linked with "evangelical", so I would never consider it.

Belindabauer · 15/10/2018 16:23

It's a gorgeous name.

Evangeline sounds like an itchy fanny cream (sort of like a cross between Vagisil/Germolene). Sorry, that sounds really horrible of me, I know. It's just what it reminded me of. I suspect I am just a freak and no-one else would think this though Blush

Flamingosnbears · 15/10/2018 16:59

My Daughters middle name absolutely stunning in my opinion and not too frilly at all.

Viviviolet · 15/10/2018 19:29

DH just suggested nn Effie for it, his reasoning is that if it can work for Elizabeth it can work for Evangeline but I just don’t think that would ever naturally form. What do you think?

Nn Effie would sway me as I love it

LOVE Evangeline, such a beautiful name!

SecretWitch · 15/10/2018 19:42

Lovely name.

deptfordgirl · 15/10/2018 19:46

It's nice. I do prefer Emmeline as it does just sound like Evangelical to me. Not that that's a problem!

Cbeebiesrehab · 15/10/2018 19:49

My daughter is Evelyn and has been known as Effie since birth...could definitely work for Evangeline too!

KarrisWhiteOak · 15/10/2018 19:51

I love it. It was a name I had on short list then sil said she loved it when I was pregnant and i decided as I’d never mentioned I loved it before it would be rude to use it.
But I love the DD has.

Viviviolet · 15/10/2018 20:12

I think we’re going for it... watching nanny McPhee with dd and re hearing Colin Firth say it has cemented my love for it!!

Liking Evangeline Ivy, maybe Violet (is it a problem that it’s my middle name Confused?)

Love Evangeline, but honestly don't think Ivy or Violet work particularly well as middle names. - Violet is the better of the two, though, in terms of how the two names hang together.

Viviviolet · 16/10/2018 15:31

Any suggestions jitters finding it very hard to find something. Don’t want any Grace, Rose or Mays
