Are Hazel and Hattie too similar for siblings?

I've been thinking of using the name Hazel for baby No2. We already have a Harriet nn Hattie but was wondering if having 2 H names is too similar?

What do people think of Hazel?

Other options include Clara, Thea, Iris, Ruby.

We don't even know if it's a girl but really struggle for girls names.

I think it's a bit too 'matching pair'. I like Thea from your list. Hazel as middle name?

I think it's really cute but would be problematic if you had another child... You'd have to find an equally cute, vintage 'h' name or choose a different style name and risk one kid feeling a little left out!

My boys both have names beginning T and both two syllables. It’s fine - and good for name tapes and handing down school clothes. If you live the name Hazel then go for it xx

Apart from both beginning with H they sound completely different. I think it’s fine.

I think it's fine too.

I don't think they're too similar, but I don't really like Hazel and think it's quite a different sort of name from Harriet/Hattie.

I like all your other options, especially Clara and Thea.

They're very different style of names, so it seems slightly odd to me.

Dont think it would be a problem - but prefer Clara.

I don’t think they’re at all similar, quite different styles of name.

They're different styles and sounds but personally I'd avoid the same initial, though, especially for the same sex.

Clara, Thea and Iris are nice and complement Hattie without being matchy. I don't like Ruby personally and not sure it goes very well with Harriet.
