Junior - as a stand alone name for a boy? What does everyone think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Name the baby after his father and add Jr at the end. nn Junior.
Like Donald Trump Jr.
I know a Junior named in this way. A bit embarrassing as a given name but just about ok as a nn. Don't call your kid Julian - it's awful.

Reminds me of the film Problem Child 😁

OatsBeansBarley · 13/10/2018 15:05

Makes me sing "Mmmama used to say"!

Topseyt · 13/10/2018 15:44

Dreadful. Just don't. Go for a proper name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/10/2018 17:05

You might as well just call him kid

Glumglowworm · 13/10/2018 20:03

It’s awful

So is calling him the same name as his dad. Your child is not an extension of his parents, he’s a person in his own right and deserves his own identity.

SilverySurfer · 13/10/2018 20:33

Absolutely dreadful.

woodhill · 13/10/2018 20:37

Momma used to say

Cookit · 13/10/2018 20:51

Like Katie Price?

Er no.

strawberrypenguin · 13/10/2018 20:53

Nope don't like it, sorry.
What about when he isn't 'junior' himself anymore - when he's a parent himself for example.

DaisyChainsForever · 13/10/2018 20:57

I'm not a fan. Do u have any others that you like?

WhenIWasAYoungWarthog · 13/10/2018 21:00

It’s awful - even worse than giving a child their fathers name with Junior as an identifier.
