Are my hormones driving me crazy??

I'm 90% sure this is my hormones talking.... but I've fell in love with the name Pepper this week (for a girl).

My family have already said I'm crazy so I'm pretty sure that'll be the response but just looking to see if anyone else likes it (or for confirmation that I am in fact going mad)! 😂

Oh, that's terrible! Only a name for an animal. Peppa pig

instastella · 09/10/2018 20:05

@Icklepup oh god, I didn't even register that they're the same name!!!! I think we've found something to put me off it!Blush

That was short lived Grin

What about Pippa? I’m generally not keen because it travels badly in Europe but it’s still better than Pepper!

instastella · 09/10/2018 20:16

@SemperIdem It was!! 😂 can't believe I hadn't thought of that!!!

Yes, I actually really like Pippa!! That'll probably replace Pepper on the list Wink

Not saying it makes it a good name but Graham Coxon has a daughter called Pepper and he is super cool Grin

I think Peppa Pig ruined it forever though!

mycatplotsdeath · 09/10/2018 20:51

As in pepper Potts in Ironman ??

DramaAlpaca · 09/10/2018 20:52

Hormones. Definitely. There's no other excuse.

MissConductUS · 09/10/2018 20:58

Sounds too much like prepper, which brings up images of stockpiling food for the apocalypse.

Hormones. They'll do strange things to you.

wineandcatsandlego · 09/10/2018 21:00

I know of a Pebbles. Not a nickname. So Pepper isn't toooo bad

QueenOfMyWorld · 09/10/2018 21:06

Don't do it.Google 'pepper from American horror story' that's what I think of sorry

abiirthdaycake · 09/10/2018 21:15

I thought of Pepper Potts from Ironman too! I actually quite like it as a name, as PP said it's Graham Coxon's daughter's name so you'd be in good company. Does Pippa not mean blowjob in Italian? I suppose if you're never in Italy it doesn't matter though!

madeoficecream · 09/10/2018 21:19

Its pretty sounding so I get where you are coming from!!
And similar to Saffron or Sage etc

But yeah... Peppa Pig... thatd kill it for me. She will never survive that at school... and I say this as someone who loves unusual names!

Pippa is pretty! Or Penelope, Philippa or Calliope with Pepper as a nickname?

Eleanor90 · 09/10/2018 22:37

I actually love it but took it off my list for pig reasons too.

Clover? Winter? Vesper?

EgremontRusset · 09/10/2018 22:41

Pippa is lovely but Philippa on the bc in case she works with / falls in love with / etc Polish speakers in the future

Shambu · 09/10/2018 22:44

Piper?

Wherearemycarkeys · 10/10/2018 02:38

I love it too! But yeah, the pig might cause problems ☹️

Shampooeeee · 12/10/2018 06:47

I love it.
I once had a yoga teacher called Pepper and she was the coolest person I’ve ever met!

SoftBlocks · 12/10/2018 06:54

I know a Pepa ( quite a popular Spanish name) but I knew her before I saw Peppa Pig. It ‘s a lovely name but you might get a few comments.

Oysterbabe · 12/10/2018 07:19

I like it but it's ruined by the pig, which will more than likely feature heavily in your life from when your child is 2.

lmj25 · 12/10/2018 07:21

Pepper American horror storyBlush

ThursdaysChildHasFarToGo · 12/10/2018 07:55

Pippa means blowjob or something similar in Italian apparently.... so I'd go with Philippa!

OutPinked · 12/10/2018 10:35

In short, yes Grin. I know cats and dogs that have been called pepper, not humans.

Definitely hormonal, I wanted to call DC2 Zeppelin and Feist at one stage Confused. Glad I didn’t.

civicxx · 12/10/2018 10:38

I like Peppa but I agree the rising fame of the asshole little pig would be the reason to pick a different name unfortunately, Piper is similar & very cute! :)

civicxx · 12/10/2018 10:40

Also hormones are crazy, I thought Nymphadora was an acceptable name for my daughter when I was 36 weeks Grin
