Help! I'm looking for boys' or gender-neutral names in honor of somebody named Katherine/Katie, but having trouble finding boys' K names that I like!

Thoughts on these?

  • Kaleb
  • Kip
  • Karter Hmm (don't love it...)
  • Kerry
other ideas?

Other names I'm considering if the K doesn't work out:

  • Ollie - short for Oliver, but would primarily go by Ollie
  • Andy - a family name
  • Maxwell - also a family name, potentially as a middle name

Kit - normally short for Christopher in a boy but it's also short for Katherine.

moredoll · 03/10/2018 06:01

Not keen on any of those.
I like Caleb.

I like Kit or how about Stirling? Means 'pure', as does Katherine.
I like Maxwell as a middle name.

Not keen on any of the K names sorry.

Kit Maxwell sounds lovely

moredoll · 03/10/2018 11:34

or Killian.

kettleonplease · 03/10/2018 11:55

Please don't call your baby Andy!!!

Kaleb okay but it looks a little odd spelt with a K and not a C.

kettleonplease · 03/10/2018 11:55

Kit or Kilian are great boys names with K

IWouldLikeToKnow · 03/10/2018 14:12

I have a Caleb, so obviously love the name, but I really don't like it spelt with a K. It seems a bit contrived to me

Renaming · 03/10/2018 18:19

I agree on Kaleb with a K being a bit contrived, but I do love it with a C. Wondering if Caleb would be enough of a nod to Katherine/Katie...

Kit is nice; I can't tell if it's too nickname-y as a standalone. Unfortunately the other K name I like, Kieran, will be too confusing with a grandma named Karen!

Stirling is an interesting thought- hadn't considered that.

Thoughts on these or other combinations of: Kit, Oliver, Maxwell, Caleb, Andrew (Andy)?

Kit Maxwell
Kit Oliver
Kit Caleb
Caleb Oliver
Caleb Andrew
Oliver Caleb
Oliver Maxwell
Oliver Andrew
Oliver Kit

If I were going with Kit, a strong masculine middle name like Kit Thomas could also work...

Kit Maxwell or Kit Caleb
Or...Caleb Kit
I personally don't think Kaleb is a nod to Katherine either
