Patrick or Liam?

Name for a 4th son. It's been a real pain because I'm Scottish, but we live in a Slavic country (where DH is from). I really wanted Ruaraidh or Murdo but they just don't sound right in the local language (where the child will be growing up/going to school) so have had to compromise on that. And we've ended up with 2 Irish names...!

I think I prefer Liam, but keep changing my mind..... any thoughts?

Patrick

Thanks all! I'm not a big fan of William so if it's Liam it'll definitely just be Liam. Liam works really well here for the pronounciation and sort of fits with our other kids' names in a way that Patrick sort of doesn't (although not sure how much that really matters).

I like Patrick, but as others have pointed out, I'm not wild about any of the shortenings... but then again, that's not something you can always predict (my 3 older boys have all got family nicknames that were not apparent when we chose their names, but make sense now...)

So surprised at the votes for Patrick ! I don't like it at all. And the NN Pat makes it an absolute no from me.

Liam is lovely ! Far nicer imo
