Help with my baby boys name

I have 4 names in the running.

I don't want anything too popular, I hated being one of 4 in my class with the same name.

Give me your opinions on the below. (I know some will say at least 2 of my names are dogs names but that doesn't bother me - I like them all)

Teddy
Barnaby
Digby
Hugo

Love Hugo. Have known quite a few Teddys lately, if you're trying to avoid popularity.

sunshine1989 · 30/09/2018 10:43

Love them all... digby is cool and I wanted Hugo but oh wouldn't go for it. Don't worry about the dog thing - the top dogs names and top baby names in the country are never that different!

motortroll · 30/09/2018 10:49

Digby is the only one I've never heard as a teacher. Barnaby second least common.

motortroll · 30/09/2018 10:49

Having said that I like Hugo best

BumbleNova · 30/09/2018 10:51

I love all three, Barnaby is my favourite. I know a digby, but it would be my second choice.

MyKingdomForBrie · 30/09/2018 10:53

Love everything but Barnaby. Hugo Digby and Teddy were all on my list! I'd go with Digby if you don't want there to be lots of them.

IggyAce · 30/09/2018 10:56

Hugo or digby, Teddy is becoming very popular.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/09/2018 11:04

Digby (or even better DIGGORY) would be my choice.

'Teddy' is becoming very commonplace now, not quite the new Oliver, but getting there. Unless used as a NN for Edward/Theodore I don't like it particularly, I don't think it ages well, iyswim.

flybabyfly · 30/09/2018 11:06

Barnaby and Hugo are lovely.

Sunflower321 · 30/09/2018 11:07

Digby is great.

onename · 30/09/2018 11:16

Barnaby, Nn Barney.

Love love love!

Peachbubble · 30/09/2018 11:31

Hugo or Barnaby

jq28 · 30/09/2018 11:33

Hugo or teddy

MeggyD · 30/09/2018 11:54

I LOVE them all!!!! But would be reluctant to use Teddy just because it's so popular at the moment. They're all lovely though - don't even know which one I'd choose !

Sungura · 30/09/2018 11:59

Barnaby is my favourite, but Hugo is more masculine, if that matters.

Coldsleeves · 30/09/2018 14:14

Thanks everyone, we've crossed Teddy off the list :)

I like Hugo best.

Monty
Sebastian
Julian

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/09/2018 18:43

I like Digby.

Goostacean · 30/09/2018 18:53

I struggle to imagine a grown up Digby, tbh. Justice Digby? Doctor Digby? Not convinced.

I’d choose between Hugo and Barnaby. I feel like Hugo is quite popular, but I don’t know whether that’s just the MN bubble?

daisypond · 30/09/2018 19:12

I quite like them all except Teddy - unless it's short for Edward. I really like Digby - I've never come across one of those before.

DaniC18 · 30/09/2018 23:22

I like Barnaby beat followed by Teddy as a nn for Theodore x

mikado1 · 30/09/2018 23:25

Hugo and Teddy are lovely, bit definitely prefer Hugo. Don't like the others, sorry, especially Digby, I just hear dig, which sounds strange in a name.

moredoll · 30/09/2018 23:30

Digby

DramaAlpaca · 30/09/2018 23:31

I'd go with Barnaby.

I'm not keen on the others.

Sophronia · 01/10/2018 14:14

Barnaby but I prefer Barnabas
