Tree themed boys names?! Or any unusual boys names?

I have my heart set in Rueben. Everyone says he'll get nicknamed Ruby. But Its just sticking atm. We have a DD whos called Ava.

DH is a tree surgeon, whole family is in the tree business. So he wants a tree themed name. He loves Forrest but all I can think of is 'run Forrest run' ill be shouting at sports day along with other forrest gump quotes. Had the usual oak/Oakley/ which I don't mind for a middle name. Open to any boys names, tree themed or not. I've searched books, online and just can't come accross any that stick (apart from reuben🙊)

Rowan?

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 28/09/2018 10:30

I have a Roan (ds)

Cosmoa · 28/09/2018 10:30

How about Reuben Jacaranda! (please don't spell it Rueben)

WakeUpSlow · 28/09/2018 10:31

Ewan means of the yew tree and I think Ivo means yew wood.

Cosmoa · 28/09/2018 10:31

Oh and I don't know any Reuben's who get called Ruby, and I know a few!

Sophronia · 28/09/2018 11:03

How about Heath? Not a tree but it’s a nice nature name.

TheCag · 28/09/2018 11:05

I know several Reuben’s, none have ever been called Ruby!

Tobykins · 28/09/2018 11:07

Ash

GinaCarbonara · 28/09/2018 11:07

Asher?

I knew a boy called Thornton when I was at school.

Sophronia · 28/09/2018 11:12

Acer
Rowan
Alder
Ash (you could have Asher or Ashton with Ash for short)
Linden
Cedar
Alon - means oak tree in Hebrew
Elwood - means elder tree forest
Ilan - tree in Hebrew
Oren - pine tree in Hebrew
Perry - pear tree
Silas - means wood/forest

daisypond · 28/09/2018 11:18

Rowan is the obvious one.
But you could think about Ash, Alder, Linden for a boy.

HankyPanky04 · 28/09/2018 11:19

Ashley - dweller of the Ash tree

LightDrizzle · 28/09/2018 11:20

Silas is nice!

mnahmnah · 28/09/2018 11:22

I have a Reuben. He gets Roo. Never Ruby or Roob etc. People always remark what an unusual but nice name it is Smile

But I agree Rosen would be a good tree based name. Or Oak. Bodhi - a type of tree that Buddha sat under. Leaf.

mnahmnah · 28/09/2018 11:23

Rowan, not Rosen!

daisypond · 28/09/2018 11:23

Sylvan/Sylvester/Sylvain/Silvano all mean "of the forest or woods".

Botanicbaby · 28/09/2018 11:25

Douglas (Fir) Smile

MrsCar · 28/09/2018 11:26

Daragh/Dara/Darragh and all the various spellings mean 'Oak' in Irish.
The comedian Dara O'Briain joked about it before

Mammaof · 28/09/2018 11:28

Oakley x

TinklyLittleLaugh · 28/09/2018 11:31

Rowan
Ash
Willow

The Reuben in our family is often called Ruby (or Rubes) but he's not at all bothered by it.

Shadow1234 · 28/09/2018 12:48

I really like Oakley., and Ashley as suggested above
Not keen on Reuben.

DaniC18 · 28/09/2018 13:57

I like Aspen and Rowan. Oakley is also nice x

Sunflower321 · 28/09/2018 14:26

I like Rowan

Reuben can get shortened to Rooby

lynmilne65 · 28/09/2018 15:03

I like Euan (Ewan)

lynmilne65 · 28/09/2018 17:55

Our Reuben is 'Roobster' 🙁
