Hi everyone, our little man was born 5 weeks early and is currently in intensive care. We still werent sure on a name but then when all this happened we looked at meanings and found out that Ozzy means devine power and strength which is so fitting to what he needs to show now. We told him his name and his meaning and he has really done well! The next decision is to just name him Ozzy or give him a formal name? If you have ideas for a formal name that would be great, we currently have Osmond or Oscar but not in love with either. Thanks

Ossian. Oceanus. Alouysius (spelling?!). Orlando. To be honest you could christen him Clifford and still nn him Ozzy! Congratulations Flowers

Ozymandius, king of kings.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 25/09/2018 09:06

My DS is Austin and everyone calls him Oz or Ozzy.

bridgetreilly · 25/09/2018 09:09

Oswald, Osiris, Austin

We know an Awstin, known as Ozzy

Sophronia · 25/09/2018 09:57

Oswin?

DaniC18 · 25/09/2018 10:00

Congratulation!
Oswald, Oscar, Osbourne. Ozias, Osman, Oisin, Osian, Osiris are obvious ones.
Perhaps Austin? Cosmos would also work?

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/09/2018 10:09

Definitely ozymandias

Cosmoa · 25/09/2018 10:14

My friends are gonna use Ozzy for Austin if they have a boy!

BikeRunSki · 25/09/2018 10:16

Oswin
Not Oswald though, too many facist connotations!!

Joinourclub · 25/09/2018 10:17

Owen Zac

Cheeseplantandpickle · 25/09/2018 10:18

I know an adult who is just Ossie.

Cbeebiesrehab · 25/09/2018 10:42

Quite like Cosmo actually!
Austin and Oscar are your more ‘usual’ choices.

Onthebrink87 · 25/09/2018 11:34

I have a ds, 5, his name is Oscar but is frequently referred to as ozzy x

Dentista · 25/09/2018 14:04

I like Oscar, don't like Oswald though.

What about a first name starting with O (e.g. Oliver, Owen, Orion) and a middle name starting with Z (e.g. Zachary, Zion...)

jadedgranger · 25/09/2018 15:27

I also like Oscar and Otto. But true could pick anything and still call him Ozzy!

BikeRunSki · 25/09/2018 16:15

Nicknames don’t have to be abbreviations of your first name.

elQuintoConyo · 25/09/2018 19:56

True BikeRunSki mine have been, over the years, Eric, Esmerelda, Rara, Oi Nutter (briefly, after the Harry Enfield Dime Bar adverts - " that man's a nutter - oi, Nutter!") and Flapper Grin

Sungura · 25/09/2018 21:24

I like Ossian. ❤️

CharlieSays13 · 25/09/2018 21:28

I know an Ozzy, while I might not have picked it I have to say he really suits it and just is Ozzy. If it has a special meaning to you I say go for it.

Flatasapancakenow · 25/09/2018 21:28

Surely Oscar?

AlliKaneErikson · 26/09/2018 00:06

My great grandfather was an Ossie/Ozzy short for Osbert...not sure I’d be recommending that though!
