Sister for Ruby?

Leilia · 23/09/2018 12:21

We've just found out that dc2 will be a little sister for Ruby.

We were all sorted with boys' names, but have really been struggling with girls' names this time round.

We have a shortlist, but I'm not in love with any of them yet, and I'm not sure if they 'go' with Ruby. We've decided against another name with an 'ee' sound ending.

Sylvia
Martha
Norah
Elizabeth
Joan
Matilda
Charlotte

Any opinions?

I'd stick with the theme and therefore suggest
Galena
Beryl
Sapphire
Opal

Or if you want slightly more unusual, find a list of semi-precious stones and see if any of them sound right to you

From your list I like Elizabeth, Martha and Matilda.

I like all of your names but think Joan would be an unusual choice (in a good way)

Tabitha actually sounds lovely.

Agate and Garnet. Both red gems.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/09/2018 10:31

Ruby and Rose.

PetraRabbit · 24/09/2018 10:43

Oh I just LOVE Joan! If it has anything in common with Ruby (a much more common name) it's that they could both be '50s movie stars. Martha is lovely too.

PetraRabbit · 24/09/2018 10:44

I agree that Ruby and Rose is a great combination too.
