Marcus- know many?

Hi guys,

We're loving the name Marcus at the moment (I know it's not everyone's cup of tea). I was just wondering how many babies/young kids called Marcus people know? I read an article saying it was going to get more popular this year but I haven't seen much evidence of that...

There was one a couple of years below me at school, so he'd be in his mid-30s now. I can't remember coming across any others at all! It's a classical name - think Marcus Antonius - and I don't think it will ever age. Definitely go for it!

I know grown up ones but not children

I know a 7 year old one.

The youngest Marcus I know is 20

I don't know any, but I love it, it reminds me of the boy from About a Boy.

I love it but not so keen on Marc/Mark, which it would inevitably be shortened to. And then I thought my child would forever have to explain that it's spelled 'Mark with a c'

Lovely name. Have only met one young Marcus aged 7 in recent years.

My 5 yr old has a marcus in her class. From poland.

I know 3- a 25 yr old, 23 and 3

there’s a marcus in my son’s reception class. i know of only one other who’s in his thirties.

Zero. But then, I don't think I've ever met an adult Marcus either.

DGS is Marcus . he is 5

Only one adult one - aged about 50. It's a fabulous name.

I know 3 and they are between 45 and 52.

I love the name.

I know two. One my age (43) and the other late 50s. Both clever opinionated men. I don't come across small Marcuses....I vaguely remember a work colleague some 15 years ago choosing it for her newborn because she was eastern European, the dad was English and they wanted a name that translated well. I like it!

I’ve taught 4 I think and know a couple of adults too. None of them has been shortened to Marc as a pp feels is inevitable... . I like it.
