Names for Twin Girls

YouAreKiddingMoi · 17/09/2018 20:21

Total mind block, found out today my surprise twins are girls, I had names for boys nailed but now I'm stumped......

I'm scottish and live in Scotland, but all the nice scottish girl names are super popular.

Last name begins with L and ends in a y/ie sound so names ending with that sound are out e.g. Lily would sound rubbish even though it's a lovely name.

A family name link could be good, we have Elizabeth, Mary, Hannah, Kathleen.

I'm stuck and rambling, all suggestions welcome, can't promise I'll like any though lol!

Mary is a brilliant name.

Mhairi is a lonely Scottish name and not too common. Pronounced Marry, as opposed to Varry

I'm really loving the name Kate at the minute. That could be a way of honouring Kathleen.

Although, the way Kate is pronounced sometimes really grates on me . (Also Scottish)

ReginaPhalange89 · 17/09/2018 22:37

Kate and Beth ?

AlecOrAlonzo · 17/09/2018 22:44

Ceit is the Gaelic for Kate and I think it's lovely. I also really like Peigi.

YouAreKiddingMoi · 19/09/2018 18:36

Ethel I've been pondering that too, I've 2 DC already neither named for a family member so maybe it's not right to start now, arrrgh.

I really like Anna and Rosa, DH loves Rona.

Anna Kathleen and Rona Elizabeth?

Too samey? I'm an indecisive nightmare

Evanna is Scottish and would be a nice nod to Hannah. Could be Evie or Eva for short.
Elspeth/Elsbeth is Scottish and is a nod to Elizabeth. Could be Beth for short.

sunshine1987 · 19/09/2018 21:16

I’m biased but how about Rhona?
