Truly Unusual Names

What are some of the most unusual names you like or love?

My favorite names tend to be of African origin. But my list was eclectic. I had a girls list with Marjani, Kiania, Tuliza, Kinaya, Aluna, Sareeya, Kioni, Mila, Bia, Muirna, Meryl... etc.

For boys I love Omari, Lazola, Sanga, Bercan, Brannon, Errol, and Garridan, Jedrek, Jotham, Langston, etc.

So, what really unique or captivating names have you liked or loved but never used for fear of teasing, mis pronunciation, other..?

Also Holm for a boy, meaning 'island on the lake', but I worry people might pronounce it 'home' like the wine.

Picknicker Phaedra was on our list too! Great name!

Kaira is a nice name ❤️
And I love Nakoa for a boy!

I like Amos & Cornelius for a boy; Dorothea & Ramona for a girl.
Not totally out there but I wouldn't be brave enough to use them!!

Ely is such a nice sounding name

Romanie was on my girls list but DH disliked it.

Ramona is one of my favorite girls names now. It's grown on me. 😍💕 Amos is nice. Don't know why it's not used more often. Nakoa? Wow! I like the sound of that Cosmoa!

I went to school with a boy called Odin. Never come across another one

@Sungura I thought you might! It's the name I have lined up for a boy if I ever have one 😊

We both like the name Nahko (after a singer we like) and I love the name Koa so I made up the name Nakoa. Turns out it's already an actual name! I realised this when I googled Jason Momoa's kids names. I saw him on a chat show and I was curious, after I realised he was from Hawaii (I don't watch game of thrones but I believe he's in that). I love Hawaiian names!
