Juno or Margot?

Really love both as feel that both are spunky but elegant- don’t know which one I prefer though. Evangeline would be mn (honouring my mum) and definitely feel as if the first name should have some spunk to balance Evangeline out

They are both brilliant names. I have a slight preference for Margot.

Susannach · 16/09/2018 19:50

Someone said recently on another thread that Juno + middle name sounds like “d’you know X?”... I can’t unhear it now!

So Margot for me — fab name!

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/09/2018 19:54

Juno!

I absolutely detest Margot . The sooner this Margot phase is over, the better !

(Apologies to anyone with a Margot 🙈)

pineappple · 16/09/2018 19:56

Juno was our front runner but living in the north it literally sounds like someone saying 'do you know' which put us off!

LovelyBranches · 16/09/2018 19:56

Juno, by a long shot.

Viviolet · 16/09/2018 20:07

I have heard the Juno= do you know thing but to be honest I really don’t care Grin I just think every name has something
I also know Margot’s having a bit (a huge) moment but it’s a name that I’ve liked since I was very young so not sure about swiping it because of a fad

In truth I am not a fan of either but I would choose Margot.... lovely classic name

greendale17 · 16/09/2018 20:24

Juno

Ca55andraMortmain · 16/09/2018 20:28

I have a 12 week old Juno and while I love her name, it's had quite a negative response from most people. A lot of folk have never heard the name before and a lot of people think it's a boy's name (possibly because of the o ending). It doesn't really bother me as such but it's a bit tiresome. Still think you should go with Juno though!

Sunflower321 · 16/09/2018 20:34

Juno!

Margot is harsh and unfeminine. I especially dislike it pronounced Mar-gott as it is in Germany etc.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 16/09/2018 20:37

I think Margot Evangeline sounds better than Juno Evangeline. Anyway I think Margot is a beautiful name and you should totally use it Smile

Momma22 · 16/09/2018 20:38

Margot

CocoLoco87 · 16/09/2018 20:45

Trying to avoid all the spunk here... I prefer Juno but when I said it in my head it went d'you know Evangeline? like a question.

Cosmoa · 16/09/2018 21:04

Wouldn't class them both as spubky at all! Juno is far better imo. Don't like Margot...

Cosmoa · 16/09/2018 21:04

Haha spubky 😂 I meant spunky of course!

Viviolet · 16/09/2018 21:07

cosmoa really? What impression do they give you? Genuinely curious, I think it’s the no frills and o endings that make them spunky to me. Do you think of pearl wearing granny too?

Margot for me.

Sophronia · 16/09/2018 22:51

Juno Evangeline sounds lovely. Margot is nice but definitely having a moment.

SleightOfMind · 16/09/2018 22:59

I went to school with a girl called Margot, nn Maggot.

She was punky though so it suited her.
She was whip smart, very tough and definitely not cute.

Picknickers · 16/09/2018 23:18

Juno Evangeline souds better.

Sleepykate · 16/09/2018 23:23

LOVE Margot! Actually I love both... Not very helpful, sorry...

MadMaryBoddington · 16/09/2018 23:40

Margot.

HPLikecraft · 17/09/2018 10:13

I also have the old fuddy duddy twin set and pearls association with Margot. And thinks it's a horrible sounding word to boot.

I like Juno, though!

Sunflower321 · 17/09/2018 10:25

Juno sounds more feminine.

I'd spell Margo without the t to avoid any confusion about pronunciation (unless in France)
