Hi all,

I'm preggers with number two (gender unknown)and have a baby called Astrid.

Our surname is Norwegian and my husband has distant Norwegian heritage, and Astrid just sounded right with our surname (plus I've always loved the name).

Our surname starts with a vowel ("oar" sound) and I'm really keen on very old names, esp those that end in consonants.

We don't won't go Scandinavian with the next name as it would be a bit themey.

I love old/ medieval names. I am Scottish so Celtic names also good but it doesn't have to be.

Ideas I like so far-

Boy:
Lachlan
Ruan
Innes
Idris
Arthur
Edward
Hector
Archie

Girl:
Seren
Josienne
Esme
Rosamund
Evelyn
Isolde

I am now in love with Ygraine for a girl.

It’s very like migraine though.

Shazafied · 09/10/2018 18:06

Even if pronounced Ee-graine? :-(

OP posts:
TatianaLarina · 09/10/2018 19:50

That’s how I pronounce migraine. Tho some people call it my grain.

I’m all for Celtic names, go for it if you like it. I like Yseult and Ywain too.

AstridsMama · 09/10/2018 20:00

Kester or Maud

Shazafied · 09/10/2018 21:29

I do like I do like Ywain. I'd only seen it spelled Yvain before and didn't like cos it has "vain" in. But Ywain is nice.

Love kester but neighbours son is called that :-(

How would you pronounce Yseult? I think I like that too.
