Opinions on Andie for a girl (inspiration taken from goonies... Hmm)

Cute. Will that be it, or will there be a formal version such as Andrea?

mommabear7 · 12/09/2018 21:29

Definitely not as a stand alone

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 12/09/2018 21:33

It wouldn't be one of my names as I like sweet girly girl names. However it is quite edgy so yes go for it.
Will she be Andrea or Alexandra on her BC

Dee03 · 12/09/2018 21:34

I'm an Andi Smile
Formally Andrea but no-one ever calls me that, ever....
If you like it go for it....I love it

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 12/09/2018 21:36

I quite like it, but agree that as a stand-alone name it’s probably not great. I would give a fuller name officially, even if you never use it when they are young. Mind you - I can only think of Andrea and I’m not a massive fan of that.

It does make me think of Andie McPhee from Dawson’s Creek and Andie MacDowell!

Pompom42 · 12/09/2018 21:37

Yes it's good. I don't like Andrea but Andie on its own is great.

Sunflower321 · 12/09/2018 21:39

Andrea nickname Andie! Great name.

coldrain2018 · 12/09/2018 21:39

lovely, as a nick name

it could be short for
Alexandria
Sandra
Cassandra
Andrea
Alisandra

Cbeebiesrehab · 12/09/2018 21:40

I know a little Andi...full name on BC. It’s quite cute now but not sure it’s a name that will grow with her well.

Kellyturnbull · 13/09/2018 21:48

I love Andie 💗 great name for a girl and I love it as full first name.
I went to school with an Andie, Ronnie and a Stevie, all girls and all first names not short for anything! Always loved their names and I have a love for unisex names too because I grew up with them x

Yika · 13/09/2018 21:50

I like it. Very cute. As a standalone name, nothing longer needed in my view.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 13/09/2018 21:56

I actually quite like it. Ali too.

Chipshopninja · 21/09/2018 22:56

Annoying bird from Dawson's creek...So no from me

Dairymilkmuncher · 22/09/2018 00:31

Love it for a kick name

Dairymilkmuncher · 22/09/2018 00:31

Nick name Blush

ambostraw · 22/09/2018 00:35

I don't like it. It doesn't matter that the spelling is changed to an i, it's still 'andy' - Middle Aged man

moodyblues · 22/09/2018 00:35

I really like it. Very cute - and strong! Perfect

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 22/09/2018 02:03

Cute as a nickname/shortened version but I wouldn't give it as a stand alone first name.

Synecdoche · 22/09/2018 02:19

Don't forget Andromeda!
