All terrible.

PippilottaLongstocking · 11/09/2018 22:18

Boys:
Eden - not bad but fairly dull
Lupin - I quite like it but could be too Harry Potter
Remus - definitely too closely linked to Harry Potter
Sylvester (nn Sylver) - definitely the best, absolutely love it

Girls:
Bindi - not awful but not one I’d go for myself
Gypsie - ethnic slur
Panda - Kimya Dawson’s daughters name. She’ll probably constantly be asked what her real name is.
Peri - only Peri I’ve ever met was a horrible person
Quinn - lovely but better for a boy
Tig - works best as a nickname but pretty cute

BellMcEnd · 11/09/2018 22:20

I only like Eden but for a girl.

What else is on your list?

Grrrooot · 11/09/2018 22:22

Eden- too feminine
Lupin- reminds me of Lupus
Remus- no
Sylvester- love it!

Girls:
Bindi- I like it but it's a guilty pleasure name for me. Reminds me of Steve Irwin's girl
Gypsie- she'll be called all sorts of slurs
Panda- really?!?! REALLY?!
Peri- sauce
Quinn- sensible but I'm not keen
Tig- horrid. Reminds me of Meghan Markle's blog called The Tig

LucyFox · 11/09/2018 22:26

Sylvester is lovely & rarely used
Please don’t call them a twee name like Panda or Tig - cute on a toddler but not a grown adult .. these are nn go for a proper name

Picknickers · 11/09/2018 22:27

Lupin is the name of the man in Diary of a Nobody. Don't like it though. TBH don't like any of them. Sorry OP.

gizmomonki · 11/09/2018 22:36

Panda
😂😂😂😂

Cosmoa · 11/09/2018 22:39

If you really like Pa da you could go with Pandora with Panda for a nn!

Cosmoa · 11/09/2018 22:40

Sorry I meant Panda of course not Pa da

Sophronia · 11/09/2018 22:45

Eden and Quinn are ok.

Goostacean · 12/09/2018 00:40

Eden or Sylvester for a boy. Although I’ve only recently come across Eden as a name, and Sylvester will always be Stallone for me. (Or the cat!). I’m only 27!

The only remotely acceptable girls name you’ve listed is Quinn...

villainousbroodmare · 12/09/2018 00:44

As PPs have said, Quinn for a boy, Eden for a girl and the rest are odd verging on ludicrous.

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/09/2018 01:02

They all sound like a joke thread to be honest ! Sorry.
Quinn is the only one that sounds decent. Eden is ok but I think of it as a girls name .

If you want any similar suggestions , I know a little Sullivan nn Sully. That's cute (better than Sylvester)

Jeippinghmip · 12/09/2018 01:37

Awful

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 12/09/2018 01:46

You are obviously just amusing yourself here because every single one of those names is appalling!

MrsFoxPlus4 · 12/09/2018 02:19

Boys:
Eden - Hadent heard it used for a male untill Austrian love island.
Lupin - Reminds me of Lupus.
Remus - Nah.
Sylvester (nn Sylver) - Hollyoaks? Nicknames don’t need to be pre decided.

Girls:
Bindi - Cute.
Gypsie - Cute.
Panda - Ridiculous:
Peri - Peri peri, Nah.
Quinn - Its ok.
Tig - Horrendous.

Tbh Edens the only half decent name you’ve chosen. I’d be thinking about using it for either genders.

kettleonplease · 12/09/2018 09:45

This has to be a joke? Panda?!

Sunflower321 · 12/09/2018 09:47

Quinn for a boy and Eden for a girl!

RedDwarves · 12/09/2018 10:14

Eden - Too feminine.

Lupin - Absolutely not.

Remus - See above, with the mild exception that it has the Romulus and Remus connection in addition to the Harry Potter one, so its blatant HP-ness is diminished slightly.

Sylvester - Stalone.

Bindi - Doesn't work unless you're Australian.

Gypsie - Should be Gypsy and no. Could be considered offensive.

Panda - What the fuck? Just no.

Peri - Peri peri chicken.

Quinn - Lovely.

Tig - Not a name.

So, Quinn is the only one which is really usable.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 13/09/2018 12:02

Wow OP, are you on drugs?

LeeMiller · 13/09/2018 14:48

Boys:
Sylvester - Stallone
Eden - girl's name
Remus - killed by his brother, not great. Assume you are a HP fan.
Lupin - sounds like Lupus.

Girls:
Panda is daft but Pandora is nice
Quinn - boy's name
Gypsie - offensive
Peri or Tig would be ok as nicknames but don't sound like real names, except for a pet.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 13/09/2018 14:59

Please don't saddle your child with any of these names. Except perhaps Sylvester.

Sunflower321 · 13/09/2018 15:06

I think you put Eden (girl) and Quinn (boy) in the wrong sections. And the other names are very 'interesting'. I wonder too whether this a joke..!
