Rueben and Alana

Borris · 06/09/2018 22:39

I think the girls names ending in ss slums are tricky to say with Ross.
Beatrice, Alice, Grace, Elise.

I like Marianne.

Albert doesn’t work with Ross - albatross. And Isaac Ross sounds like eyes are crossed.

I do like Reuben and Caleb

Borris · 06/09/2018 22:39

Slums = sounds

ChanklyBore · 06/09/2018 22:42

Evangeline and Zachariah

Evie and Zach

Sophronia · 06/09/2018 23:08

Helena, Esther, Jennifer or Marianne

Robert, Dominic, Francis or Zachariah

AnyaMoondial · 07/09/2018 04:37

Really like your girls list! Although I agree with pp that the Beatrice, Alice type names don’t fit that well with your surname.

Names I love from your list are:
Ursula
Lucinda
Jennifer
Esther

Sungura · 07/09/2018 06:56

Ronan and Georgia Ross
Frederick and Lucinda Ross

Congrats OP!

Ok, to narrow your list down, first of all I'd scrap all the names with a heavy S sound - as previous posters have said it doesn't really work with your surname. So lose Frances, Beatrice, Grace, Alice, Elise, Eloise, Esther, Estelle, Ursula.

Then personally I'd bin all the Eva/Ava/Evie names. You have some much more interesting names on your list and quite frankly they are this decades Sarah/Claire.
So lose Ava, Evelyn, Eva and Evangeline.

Vivienne Ross is an actress so I'd lose that too.

Nicole Ross doesn't really flow well so I'd lose that too. Jennifer Ross is also hard to say.

This leaves you: Helena, Delilah, Alina, Alana, Georgia, Elaina, Marianne, Caitlin, Lorna, Margot, Eleni, Lucinda and Marielle.

For your boys, I agree that Isaac Ross doesn't work and would scrap Francis Ross because of the S sound.

I'm not a fan of alliteration so personally I'd scrap Robert, Ryan, Ronan and Reuben.

Overall I'd go for Lorna Marielle Ross for a girl and Dominic Aidan Ross for your boy. Beautiful names!

Some lovely names. My favourites are Alice, Elise, Esther, Helena and Evangeline. And Isaac, Caleb and Reuben.

I would go with Alice and Caleb personally.

Happyandshiney · 07/09/2018 08:22

I have twins, many congratulations.

I like Helena Ross and Caleb Ross.

My tip, go to your back door and try yelling both names together. Make sure it’s comfortable and not a tongue twister.

You’ll be saying/calling/shouting their names together across parks and gardens for a long time (trust me on this) Grin

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/09/2018 08:39

Helena Frances is lovely, and Jennifer Estelle.
Robert Frederick.
Ryan Francis.

TatianaLarina · 07/09/2018 14:02

Delilah or Beatrice with

Zachary or Sebastian

Don’t like any of the others.

Icklepup · 07/09/2018 14:05

Jennifer and Dominic

CorneliusCrackers · 07/09/2018 15:39

Reuben and Margot

1.Ava- not another one!
2.Evelyn- sweet and classic
3.Grace- dull and looks/sounds ugly
4.Eva- Nice but really common
5.Alice- dull as paint
6.Helena- lovely and elegant
7.Vivien- not keen at all. Makes me think of Viv from Emmerdale
8.Delilah- nice
9.Nicole- chavvy
10.Elise- don't like it at all
11.Alina- meh
12.Esther- nice
13.Alana- nice
14.Eloise- don't like
15. Georgia- ok but screams 90s to me
16.Evangeline- beautiful!!!
17.Elaina- Prefer Elena but nice
18.Jennifer- not keen
19.Marianne- fantastic!!!
20.Caitlin- no
21.Lorna- no
22.Frances- not keen but I know it's popular on MN
23.Margot- lovely!!
24.Beatrice- not keen but not awful
25.Estelle- nice. I prefer Estella though. Makes me think of the Swedish Princess
26.Eleni- is this a typo? If not then no.
27.Lucinda- ok but makes me think of a fairy for some reason
28.Marielle- not too bad but not keen
29.Ursula- 'poor unfortunate souls' and phoebe's twin on Friends

boys...
1.Isaac- strong and classic but the last three boys born in my friendship circle/family have been named Isaac. Nice but fed up of hearing it everywhere
2.Ryan- bit chavvy and a bit 80s/90s
3.Caleb- I have no basis for this but I think it's a 'naughty' name
4.Ronan- Keating
5.Robert- love this.
6.Dominic- makes me think of a nerdy boy
7.Aiden- don't like
8.Francis- hate
9.Zachariah- like it
10.Albert- nope
11.Frederick- lovely but Freddie is so common now
12.Alfred- not awful but as with Freddie, Alfies are two a penny
13.Reuben- no. 'Naughty'

Robert, Isaac, Frederick and Zachariah are lovely.
I love Evangeline, Margot and Marianne

Picknickers · 07/09/2018 23:53

Marianne and Dominic get my vote as per pp. Unusual classy and great with Ross.

villainousbroodmare · 07/09/2018 23:57

Lucinda and Frederick. I have boy and girl twins and they are brilliant!

annainboots · 08/09/2018 02:02

Congrats on twins OP! From your list I like Evangeline, Helena, Beatrice, Frederick, Zachariah and Dominic. Whilst I like Dominic, I personally wouldn't choose as I dislike the nn Dom. Something to consider I suppose, as you can't control nicknames once they get to school. If you like Dom as a nn go for it though!

My favourite combinations would have to be:
Evangeline Ross and Zachariah Ross (Eve and Zach)
Beatrice Ross and Frederick Ross (Bea and Freddie)
Helena Ross and Dominic Ross

ColinsVeryJolly · 08/09/2018 02:05

Albatross 😂😂
