Seriously considering this, thoughts?

I like it, but I do prefer Miles. Giles, Rowan and Francis are all quite feminine names to me, and feel quite similar, though Giles is my favourite out of the three. I wouldn't pair the name with one of the others as a middle name. I only know one Giles - very posh, public school educated sort - so that is its image to me. I'm not aware of Farmer Giles.

To me Giles sounds like a floppy-haired public school boy. Slightly wet. Similar to Julien, Rupert, Piers.

I really like Francis.

Giles Frances

Sunflower321 · 03/09/2018 07:28

Sorry Francis

Booop · 03/09/2018 07:31

Sorry but piles comes to mind straight away.
Also it's one of those names that has connotations of being 'posh. Like quentin or arabella though that might not matter to you.

It’s actually got family connections on my husbands mums side so not just a name we’ve plucked out of thin air.

It also has the additional bonus that FIL will absolutely hate it, which pleases me no end Wink

I really like it. I much prefer it to Rowan.

Sunflower321 · 03/09/2018 16:51

I like it too!

Shadow1234 · 08/09/2018 23:48

I prefer miles, as other poster said, but not too keen on Giles.
