Tillie and Tori

We have a three year old Matilda, who we call Tillie, expecting dd2 and starting to think about names.

We like Victoria, but we don't like the nickname Vicky, so would probably call her Tori.

Do you think Tillie and Tori are too twee as a pair?

Any other suggestions to go with Matilda/Tillie? Lots of the other names we considered for dd1 have either been used by close friends/family or we've gone off them.

I know a Tor and a Toria who are Victorias, so you don't necessarily have to use Tori if you do find it twee. I think any are nice, and not twee Smile

I know a Tia and a Vic.

Tillie and Tori are adorable.
Victoria is a beautiful name. However if you don't like Vicky I'd think of something else as she might do, or Id just put Tori on her BC
I mean would it bother you if she got to about 12 and said "I want to use Vicky now, not Tori."

I'd just put Tori on her BC

That would be a cruel thing to do to a kid though - she'd introduce herself & it would sound as if she was stating her politics.

It's fine stick with it they're nicknames at the end of the day.

Honestly I don't love Matilda and Victoria together . I think its the double 'a' pronounciation at the end.

I’m another who thinks Matilda and Victoria don’t sound too great together. Sorry.

That aside, it’s a nice name but I’m not fond of Vicky and Tori is too political for me. This is a bit out there, but would Plum be a suitable nickname? It is a traditional nickname for Victoria and is cute.

Just an idea!

What about Tora? I know a couple of Victorias who go by Tora
Tillie and Tora

I think Tillie and Tori is fine.

I also know a Victoria who is Toria which I think it better than Tori, especially with Tillie

If you don’t like the name Vicky then don’t call her Victoria. She might like it perfectly well and you can’t control what other people call her.

Other than that Matilda and Victoria sound fine together.
