Think I really love this, am I alone?

Really liked Lilia but my DH has totally put me off as says it sounds like a feminine hygiene brand 😂😂

We can see this thread is quite old now but if you’ve landed here looking for baby naming inspo, our recently updated 1000 top girl names article may offer some ideas. Flowers

A lot of people saying it was on the shortlist... Wonder why they didn't choose it???

I love it.

HerculesMulligan · 20/08/2018 17:19

My best friend's 4yo is a Cleo and she is an utter delight - a really fabulous child with tons of spark and imagination.

minnierose3 · 20/08/2018 17:28

Oh thanks everyone! 💗💗💗

I like it, and Clio too. Much better than Lilia.

HJL2506 · 20/08/2018 18:58

I love Cleo! It was in my top few for a girls name. I'm expecting my second son, and there's a couple of other names I preferred for girls had I had girls but I do love Cleo!! X

babybrain77 · 20/08/2018 19:01

I think it's a great name! Unusual without being weird. I would have thought about it on our list, but one of my close friends used to have a Dalmatian called Cleo so it would be a source of hilarity for my friends!

minnierose3 · 20/08/2018 19:23

My parents had a cat before we were born called Cleo so no doubt they'll mention that!

I have a Clementine who we call Cleo! I was happy to go with just Cleo but DH was a bit unconvinced at first and wanted her to be Clementine officially. People love her name, I’m worried it might get quite popular though...

pixieloux · 20/08/2018 19:59

I absolutely love it but DS is known as Theo most of the time so it's a no go for us. Cliodhna is on our middle name list to kind of get it in there as DH is Irish and we have somewhat created a theme with Irish names in the middle spot lol.

AnyaMoondial · 20/08/2018 20:06

Yep, I too really like it.

Coco2891 · 20/08/2018 20:06

pp has a Cleopatra 🤩 amazing !
I LOVE that name

Elmo303 · 20/08/2018 20:09

I have a Cleo. So glad we chose it, absolutely love it.

TigerlilyMoon · 20/08/2018 20:10

I reeeeally wanted this name but my dp couldn't get passed the car jokes Sad

Elmo303 · 20/08/2018 20:12

Only thing is, just to add, people often call her Chloe (even though they know her name is Cleo), especially older relatives. A tad annoying

minnierose3 · 20/08/2018 21:12

@Elmo303 ahh I love it when you still love a name! My eldest DCs name I adore, my middle DC I also adore but people get it wrong all the bloody time 😡 so Cleo/Chloe might be worth considering, not really a fan of Chloe 😕

I love it! It fits my "fairly unusual but known" criteria perfectly!

It was on my list for dd1 - I wanted a longer name to shorten to Cleo but didn't like any of the option... Ironically Clementine was also on my list but I didn't like the nn clem/clemmy. Who knew Cleo was a nn for Clementine! That's my next dd sorted 🤣

llangennith · 20/08/2018 21:38

Dated. Lots of Cleos in the 80s. But if you like it go for it.

afrikat · 20/08/2018 21:42

Love it!

Elmo303 · 20/08/2018 22:40

Yes OP it does happen a fair bit unfortunately, I’ve heard the same from others with the name too and I’m not keen on Chloe either which to me has a very different feel. However despite that it hasn’t put me off the name. I think it’s beautiful, old worldly but still sounds current, strong and feminine without being too frilly. Great name 👊🏻

RaggieDolls · 20/08/2018 22:49

My DS was going to be Cleo if he hadn't been a DS!

SwearyMaclairy · 21/08/2018 22:43

I really like this, currently 33w expecting a girl and it was in my shortlist but DH vetoed it on the grounds of Cleo the cross-eyed lion (I had never heard of it!). So there’s one reason why it was on a shortlist but sadly won’t be used.

KERALA1 · 21/08/2018 23:13

I know two both lovely sparky girls

BraayTigger · 21/08/2018 23:47

Love Cleo, go for it

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/08/2018 10:25

💕 Cleo.
