Imogen or Delilah...

We're down to these two names.

I adore the name Delilah. I know it has certain negative biblical connotations - these don't bother me personally, but would they colour your view of a person called Delilah?

Dh likes Delilah but thinks Imogen is a safer choice. I also like Imogen, though I'm not keen on 'Imi' (I much prefer Lilah as a nickname).

If we go with Imogen, then we'll probably use Delilah as the middle name.

If we go with Delilah, then we want a middle name that doesn't start with a vowel, so were thinking Delilah Tegan/Delilah Margot/Delilah Maeve.

Any opinions?

DD’s got a friend called Delilah who is a very sweet girl - 1 year on and I still can’t get past the Biblical connotations and DH sings Tom Jones every time her name is mentioned.

Imogen is a beautiful, strong Shakespearean name.

Imogen. Can't mentally get past Tom Jones either - just picture myself singing 'why why why Delilah?' to a naughty kid!

Imogen is better than Delilah - though I'm not keen on that either.
Delilah really does have negative biblical associations to me - like Jezebel, etc.

I love imogen, it was on my shortlist but then I saw that it was really increasing in popularity and got worried that it would be too 'of its time'

I love Delilah too. But it does mean people will sing 'my my my Delilah why why why delilah'. Lilah is a lovely nn too.
