So I am 39 weeks today and we have NO names that hubby and I can agree on!

Apparently I ask about names too often, so I think hubby is losing interest and is just going to let me decide Grin lol As nice as that is, I still don't want something that he doesn't like either! So tough when he won't share his opinion!

I prefer traditional names, big brother is Henry. The names I've kind of been coming back to, but not sure I LOVE are:

  • Angus
  • Archie (Arthur or Archibald on BC, but not sure I can do those really!!)
  • Theo/Theodore (seems to be really popular now)
  • George (to basic?)
  • William (to basic?)

Hubby had originally liked Rupert, but I just have a hard time visualizing a baby named Rupert!

Thoughts?

I like Angus from your list. I know a toddler Rupert, who's called Roo.

TJBetty · 16/08/2018 11:06

I'm in exactly the same boat. Nearly 40 weeks and still can't decide on a name. We have a little boy called Eli but really struggling with this one. So far I have..

Arlo
Isaac
Oliver
Jacob
Rory
Travis
Jack

Like you I'm not sure I love any of my choices so far :) It's so difficult

TJBetty · 16/08/2018 11:07

I like Archie though!

IggyAce · 16/08/2018 11:12

James
Lachlan
Matthew
Nicholas
Jonathan
Robin

moreismore · 16/08/2018 11:14

I like Archie and actually think you could just put that on BC.
I also know a Rupert who is currently Roo which I love.
How about Rory if you like Angus?

lovelsa · 16/08/2018 11:43

@TJBetty Thanks for sharing your list! Jacob is my husbands name, so can't use that one. And Oliver we did agree on, but there are FIVE Oliver's at Henrys day care. So we vetoed that one together.

I'll see if I can get him to discuss the others this evening! x

@moreismore I'm just a stickler for a full name and then using a nickname I think. I know Archie has kind of become its own name, but I'd prefer to have a full proper name and use a nickname. Call me crazy!

People have suggested Roo, but I just keep thinking of RuPaul's Drag Race TV Show! 🙈 Weird association, I know!

I love love love Angus.
If you're open to other suggestions, I loooove Hamish . Henry & Hamish would be cute !

I do like Archie but I know quite a few so it's definitely one of the more common ones. William I'm not a huge fan of but I do really like the potential NN Will or Liam

TJBetty · 16/08/2018 12:14

That's the only thing putting me off Oliver. It's popularity.

Frosty6611 · 16/08/2018 12:21

Love William from your list.

Other suggestion:
Matthew
Tobias
Oscar
Thomas
Albert/Albie

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2018 12:24

Henry and Angus.

AnyaMoondial · 16/08/2018 12:33

Angus is great. I like Hamish too as pp suggested.

Magnus?

Icklepup · 16/08/2018 12:53

Henry and Angus.

Ginandplatonic · 16/08/2018 13:00

Angus is great! (May be biased)

Alastair (May also be biased)
Julian
Edward
Dominic
Hugo
Sebastian
Christopher

Tiny bit more out there than William/Thomas but still v traditional.

hellsbells552 · 16/08/2018 17:10

How about Rufus as a cross between Rupert and Angus?! With ‘Roo’ a I would think Roo from Winnie the Pooh before RuPaul Grin

Sophronia · 16/08/2018 17:53

Angus

Jeippinghmip · 16/08/2018 17:56

Hector
Alexander
Jonah
Luke
Matthew

auntyflonono · 16/08/2018 18:49

Angus

DC2018 · 16/08/2018 19:15

I like Theodore best out of your list. I don't think it's too popular. George is nice but the royal connection is strong. X

OneOfEach2 · 16/08/2018 20:27

I love Rupert and Rufus. They would be top of my list if I didn't have a close friend with a Rupert. He's a lovely child FWIW
