DC2 and completely unsure on names

So I have a son and DC2 is on the way but me and DH just can't agree on names. And although we finally have a boy name and a girl name were both not 100% on them, we just think they are nice.

So far we have, Cedric for a boy and Elizabeth for a girl.

DS1 does have a old man's name too he is 4.

Any other ideas out there?

Ivy - Olive - Ethel - Margot
Stanley - Terrance - Gerald 🤷‍♀️

WhatWouldCoachBombayDo · 15/08/2018 13:57

@coco thank you! I like Gerald but I don't think DH will go for it, he likes to have a harsh constant sound in the name...it's do do with calling them (I'm sure he thinks children are dogs) so he can go Ced..RIC! If that makes sense...

Love Cedric! Very cool.

Elizabeth is fine, how about Beatrice or Florence?

pipilangstrumpf · 15/08/2018 14:59

Or Arthur, Quentin or Frederick?

WhatWouldCoachBombayDo · 15/08/2018 15:09

Beatrice just reminds me of Princess Beatrice and THAT hat from the royal wedding...lol it's silly I know but I just can't shake it haha

I'm really picky aren't I 😂🙈

Florence is nice though I like that one!

Cedric is fantastic. What about Reginald?

Picknickers · 15/08/2018 22:44

I LOVE Cedric. My OH hated it. It's soooo cool. Elizabeth is nice but not in the same league imho.

WhatWouldCoachBombayDo · 16/08/2018 09:24

We had a hamster called "Reg" (Reginald) 😂

So after further discussion it's become apparent Cedric will be our boy name.

Elizabeth is still in the running as DH likes Eliza as a nickname but didn't want Eliza as the full name as he likes going "Eliza-BETH!!"

Ohh were so picky...fingers crossed this child is a boy and we're done haha

Sorry Cedric is awful! What about Alfred or Arthur?

kettleonplease · 16/08/2018 11:34

Love Cedric!

Not so keen on Elizabeth, I do however like Beth!

pipilangstrumpf · 16/08/2018 12:02

Cedric is a great name - cool, classy and not overused!

Elizabeth is ok but a little dull imo. Nothing wrong with it but not as interesting as Cedric.

BuntyII · 16/08/2018 12:03

Cedric and Elizabeth sound like characters from Downton Abbey.

starkid · 16/08/2018 12:12

Cedric is great, Elizabeth is ok.

Girl names with a good sharp ending:

Astrid
Bernadette
Christine
Felicity
Juliet
Katherine
Meredith

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2018 12:27

💙 Cedric, fab name !
Elizabeth is lovely too, look no further OP, great choices.

WhatWouldCoachBombayDo · 16/08/2018 20:43

DC1 also has a "Downton Abbey" name so it will be fine haha!

We just didn't want a biblical name and didn't want anything "modern" or "hipster" so we've ended up going down the "traditional route" avoiding all biblical names.

DH has grown fond of Penelope...and I like it too. Thanks to whomever mentioned it!

I think if DC2 is a girl she probably won't be named till we have to at this rate!
