I think the majority the suggestions in your list don't class as classic. I would say Lucy is about the only 'classic' name on there. If your dp doesn't like suggestions so far, what does he suggest?

When he said classic he meant more ‘a name in general usage’ not an ancient name.

Ie for a boy he likes David!

Erin is his top choice but I don’t really like it.

I like David, not keen on Dave.
