My husband and I both love the name Ava but due to it's popularity and our common last name Smith don't know if we should go for something more unusual?

We both like the name Liberty, which has a few nickname options, what does everyone else think?

Any help much appreciated!!

Liberty is an amazing name! Ava is just meh...

Ava is so boring. It’s the Emma, Sarah, Rebecca’s of the 80’s. (there was between 6-8 of each of these in my 120 a year high school). All known by their surname- Emma jones, Emma Davies, Rebecca smith etc).

...and Bertie is a really cute nn (I know a Roberta who is always called Bertie - it's such a cute&cool nn!) Smile

Ava or Liberty are lovely. I've never meet anyone with those names. Great choices.
My name is Columba and I've never meet anybody that shares my name.

Thanks guys, looks like Liberty wins!

I absolutely love the name Liberty! So cute x

Would defiently pick Liberty.
I like Ava but it is very common and probably a generational name - like Tracey, Sharon, Gemma, Hayley, Kelly etc. You just know what decade they were born as you hear their names. I reckon in 20 years time Ava will be the same.
Liberty is much cooler.
