Your favourite girls names?

strawberrry · 02/08/2018 18:21

Please share a short list of your favourite girls names with me - I am expecting a baby girl and finding it difficult to pick a pretty name that would suit a baby girl, teenager and an adult. I love names that are a bit different but not daft.

Have Spanish and Indian background however too far back to use a name relating to either, so a name that would suit an English girl would be lovely thank you! (I have mentioned this as I realise some people give their lo's lovely names from other cultures but don't want to give a name which will result in questions over the years)

Thank you for any input!

To find names that suit different ages, I like longer names with a variety of nicknames, so the child can find a name that suits them. Both my DDs chose their nick names, which they are now known by. With this in mind I like:

Elizabeth (Libby, Beth, Eliza...)
Catherine (Kitty, Kate, Kathy...)
Charlotte (Lottie, Charlie)
Francesca (Chessie, Frankie, Fran)
Harriet (Hettie/ Hattie)
Helena (Lennie, not very many nicknames for this one, but I love it!)

The nicknames are names I've genuinely known for children / adults with these names, but I've tried to include one more childish, one more cool teen and a more grown up adult one!
